Turkey Day and Black Friday!

I took MANY pictures of the girls today but had trouble getting everyone to cooperate...only then to notice my scrubby chillin in the background of every picture! HA! Little Ninny and I started our day early. She is an early riser (6:30-7am) so we got up and fixed breakfast for the family and started on some holiday cooking. since my mother does the majority of the cooking, my job is pretty easy. Green bean casserole, veggie and cheese trays, and a nice clean house! That I can handle! We were lucky this year to have grandpa AND grandma curtis with us. For the last 10 or 12 years Grandma has had to work Thanksgiving day so we didn't have her (or her dozens of deviled eggs and pumpkin pies) with us. Our little family ate our feast and just enjoyed each other's company...UNTIL....it was time to break out the ADS and discuss our lists for the black friday sales!

This is a FAVORITE annual activity for Heath and I. We have a great time shopping for the girls and fighting the crowds for BARGAINS GALORE! This year black friday at Walmart started at 12:01am. We had one key item in mind so we got the girls all cozy at Grammy's.....

and hit the stores at 10pm. We were definitely some of the first b.f. shoppers at wally world but it didn't take long for the store to fill up. (i LOVE this picture of us out in the cold ready to shop! Heath bugging his eyes to keep them open. waahaha!)
After some scheming and strategizing we were able to position ourselves correctly and snag all of our bargains! Woohoo! It is a RUSH to get everything we are after in such a short time!
Next it was a quick pit stop at home to drop off our purchases and prepare for ROUND TWO! We rolled to target to see what damage we could do there. This was our first time going to Wichita on bf so we were a little unsure of what to expect. Teresa and I had gone to Best Buy many moons ago and all I remember was the cooold and the madness!
We got to Target about 2am. Heath jumped in a line (that extended the length of the building)
and the wait began. I ran to the mall to check out Old Navy and a few others. I found A FEW bargains but NO $5 pair of kids sweatpants will get me to stand in a 2 hour+ check out line that wove through the entire store! It was crazy! No WAY! I hit a few other stores (it was AMAZING how many stores stayed open all night long this year) but I didn't find any bargains good enough to stray from my list. I stopped to get us some coffees and join the scrubs in line. By that time it was about 3:30am so I only had to freeze for about 30 minutes. Nothing compared to what Heath had to deal with..but he had an agenda...he had decided that it was time for us to get a new tv! YAY! So he was a man on a mission! He had to RUN through the store to get to the flat screens which ironically enough were in the maternity section (an area he was well familiar with...he had just stood there a few days ago waiting for me to pick up a few things!). He didn't get the tv he was going for but DID get another great buy that wasn't pictured in the ad so it all worked out. We snatched up and few other goodies on our list then headed to the checkout line (aka Mob Scene!). Our line went pretty quickly and after another quick run through Starbux we were on the road back to Winfield! By this time it was about 5:30am! On the way home, I was beginning to feel SUPA tired and a little sore (from all of the pushing and reaching and scurrying) but we decided to make a trip back to Walmart in Winfield! The checkout clerk asked of our adventures that evening and just thought we were nuts! "To each his own" as my mother would say!! I picked up 2 more sets of picture frames and we decided to grab a couple more movies. It was SLIM pickins but we wanted to find a couple of Blue Rays for our new tv.

We got home about 6:30am and I was exhausted after our 24 hour adventure! I headed straight to bed but Heath started putting together the tv and stand and still hasn't gone to bed! It is now 1pm and he is in the kitchen doing dishes! What a GUY! I bet once he sits down though he is OUT! Paisley just went down for a nap and now that I have gotten some leftovers in my tummy I am off to join her (since the girls have claimed the new tv as their own I will have to watch my movie later!)
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! And if that included shopping, i hope you found some great bargains!!!

All i WaNt.......

Crosby has started her Christmas list already this year beginning with her two front teeth! She is just TOTALLY adorable and toothless right now! Last Wednesday she came home from school with a VERY loose tooth. She is kinda wimpy when it comes to her teeth (and hair) so it took some convincing for her to let me have ONE shot at it. I KNEW if it was coming out tonight-and it was ready-then I was going to have to give it one quick pull. I LOVE to pull out teeth (I have even pulled one of Chelo's on the sidelines DURING a soccer game!) so I am always ready and willing when the girls have a good and loose one!!

She left a note for the Tooth Fairy asking if she could keep her tooth! She is so funny! I kept joking with her asking if she was planning on making a baby tooth necklace out of them! She just saids "Mo-m!"

The tooth fairy came that night and left her tooth behind along with some $$. It just so happened that the week before I had made an appointment to have her other front tooth pulled that next day! ***She slipped in her tap shoes at dance practice when she was 3, hitting and discoloring both of her front teeth, deadening the roots in the process. When we went to our checkup in July the doctor had noticed an abscess beginning to form on the more damaged of the two teeth. We were planning on having the tooth extracted at our next appointment in February. Well, the other day she said her tooth was hurting and I took a look at it and saw that her BIG front tooth was growing in- way up in her gum. I decided that we needed to go ahead and get that tooth out and lucky her it was the day after losing the first one!

So for now she is "Front Toothless" and FABULOUS! (that big tooth is quickly descending--yet still pretty high up there)

Happy Birthday Little Paisley...Happy Birthday to You!

Well, today is the big day. I can't quit saying that this has been the fastest year of my life. My friend Elo tells me that it is because all we do is give baths and wipe butts and time flies!! HA! Today is our little one's birthday and she couldn't be more special to us. We have had the best year watching her grow.

***Hold please...I just had to stop blogging because the birthday girls just BARFED everywhere for no apparent reason!...Elo is RIGHT! A mom's job is never ending!***

We had her party at our house on Friday night. Here is our little Ninny (as we call her) opening presents with her big sissy Chelo.

I had her party outfit picked out for MONTHS! One of my DEAR teacher friends, Amy, got her this ADORABLE ruffled dress and striped leggings in Colorado when she was born. Hot pink, satin, tulle...it gets NO cuter than that in her mommy's eyes!! and her shoes!! Fuzzy pink cheetah fabric with patent leather toes! and the kicker...they squeak when she walks!

We got her her first "Bike" for the big day and she LOVES to ride it!

Her own little cake!

She didn't quite know what to do with it at first.

She took tiny little bites...

Then her sissies showed her how to dig in.

She got a few big bites and then she was done. None of my girls really like to be messy and Paisley is no exception! She was ready to be cleaned up!
Her Auntie Teresa found her this adorable head band and matching bloomers! LOVE!

We had a great party to celebrate a great first year of our little girl's life.
Paisley's recent milestones:
  • She is running now instead of walking!
  • She is still getting into EVERYTHING. She especially loves opening the pantry and playing with the wax paper and foil!
  • She is saying many words (and using them correctly): Mama, Dada, Bruiser, Bye, Fishy, PupPup, MoMo, Addie, Sissy, PatPat, Bahbah (bottle), she makes this little GullyGullyGully noise when she is sucking her thumb- we think it is the cutest!
  • She is working on her 8th tooth

We LoVe you Ninny Wunkles!! Happy BirtHdaY!
