Noooo WAY!!!!!

My husband's dear mother-in-law made a very practical purchase for him this Christmas. Since she is well aware of his life threatening tool allergy she was able to still give him something very useful without putting him in harm's way!!!! He now is the proud owner of a fabulous new LADDER!!! Do you remember the summer before last when I was painting in preparation for our Brazilian exchange student and I fell of our 1,000 year old teetery ladder that I'm pretty sure he found in our garage from the previous owners???? Anyhoo, I had a HUGE hematoma on the back of one of my legs b/c I fell on top of our computer desk and computer (and spilled paint EVERYWHERE!!!). We had to get a new keyboard cause all of the keys stuck!! So, now I realize my mother probably gave Heath the ladder not only to help us reach high places but to prevent trips to the ER!!!! I was soooo excited tonight when I saw my dear mr. curtis up on him's new ladder painting away---without any nagging!!!
Last year I got the brilliant idea to paint our downstairs half bath a cheery watermelon pink!! and needless to say mr. curtis HATED the color big time!! Not only that my exchange student helped me and the paint job left a little to be desired to say the LEAST!

This is the flooring after I decided to rip up the carpet KNOWING we could not put in the man-hours to anything like this at the time. He is not happy when I do stuff like that either!! My theory is that it will jump start our motivation...instead it just becomes and unfinished project looming over our heads!! SWEET!

Killer paint job!! I can't believe I am even posting these picks!! I am a tad embarrassed by the state of my bathroom but hey---most of you have seen it in-person anyway!!!

And the final bit of bathroom un-loveliness... our weird, old corner sink. There is sooo much that needs to be done to this space but for now it is just going to get a neutral paint job and maybe someday (if I stop having babies) we will have the time and energy to do something about the rest of it!!!! :)

Crappy Blogger!

I have been a blog slacker these days and it isn't for lack of things to blog about, but lack of time and energy for blogging!! Right now I am trying to clean my house and get ready for my class at ScrapFunattic tomorrow while Heath paints and prepares for our new furniture to arrive tomorrow...just in time for my baby shower on Sunday here at our house!! My dearsweetadorable friend Kara and her husband are picking up my furniture for me in Wichita! YIPEE! Thank you guys sooo much! They told me it probably wouldn't be in until next week but by luck it came in today so we have been doing some quick maneuvering to get it here. Heath has worked his butt off peeling wallpaper, texturing, and painting to get our living room just the way we want it (by the way, we are painting a VERY light color which is so unlike me but I am feeling ready for a change!). I feel bad cause I am not tooo much help so I am staying out of his way!! He is looking forward to taking a few days off and laying around on the new couches watching football!

Daddy's Girl

One thing I have learned about having daughters is that they SURE do love their Daddy!!! I FINALLY went grocery shopping today (the family was starting to wonder if I would ever do that again!!!) so we had a ton of choices. We decided to have french toast and bacon or "night breakfast" as Crosby calls it!!! Heath decided to "man" the french toast making. Which turned out to be a great idea cause when he came in and asked me if we have any vanilla and nutmeg I literally fell onto the floor laughing!!! If you know me you KNOW why this is soooo funny!!! We did have some vanilla but NUTMEG!?!?!? What in the world do you use nutmeg for???? besides apparently french toast!! I couldn't stop laughing...do we have any nutmeg??? So after walking away from my hysterics he decided to handle it himself and when I came in to check progress... okay to sneak some bacon!!!... this is what I saw. This is not posed for the camera, they really are this cute together!!!
Heath and his mini me #1 did a great job... the french toast was EXCELLENT even if it was lacking nutmeg!!!

I don't know that the videos do it justice but it was HILARIOUS to see Heath haulin booty up and down 11th street!!! Oh don't you LOVE random summer evenings?!?!?

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Happy Father's Day to our Dad Heath---the best daddy and husband this group of girls could ask for! We love you so very much! We spent another exciting weekend watching the Ripits play softball. This time we were at home in Winfield--which was nice!-- for our state qualifier. The girls played great and took third place!

Medal Ceremony

Last night we finished off a day of 3 hard fought wins with a team trip to Braum's.

You gotta love eating ice cream at 10:30pm!!!
Dave was the Ripit's honorary coach this weekend! Dave, Teresa, and Davin were at every game supporting the girls--it was sooo nice to have them there! Thanks guys!

Daddy's Up To Bat

We didn't have anything going on Monday night and when Heath got a call to sub for softball he decided to play. Crosby and I went to watch. She was sooo funny standing on the bleachers cheering for her daddy. She was saying cheers that she has learned watching the big girls play ball this summer so this is what she was saying:

"Daddy's up to bat

He'll give the ball a whack

if I were you I'd scoot your booties back

way back, way back, way way way back!!"
Well, I'll tell ya what... he sure surprised me. I thought he was pretty out of shape but he did hit the crap out of the ball and over the heads of the outfielders one time up to bat. The guys on the team were all cheering for him and CROSBY for singing the cheers that helped him hit so far!! It was soo cute. He had a few other good base hits and hauled booty around the bases...I was pretty impressed! I mean I know that my husband is a great ball player but he claims he is old and out of shape but when he is out there it is just like the old days!! Let me tell you about this one at bat though.... he foul tipped the ball but from far away it looked like he took a big cut and just WHIFFED it!! He looked over at me and I started DYING with laughter! He gets me this way... if something is funny and we make eye contact I know he got it too and I can't quit laughing. So I am rolling on the bleachers and the team is laughing too cracking jokes about whether or not I got the "hit" on camera! (Oh and I am SURE Heath loveloveloved that I had my camera out snapping pictures of his substitute softball league performance!!) So, the next pitch he hit a high infield fly which is sooo not typical of him and after the game he came over and told me that there is NO WAY he could've hit the ball with me over there laughing!!

Scuba Man!!!

Happy Memorial Day!!!
Heath and Crosby were swimming around today and she kept calling him "Scuba Man." This is what I saw when I came out to see what all of the fun was about! It was soo cute to watch those two playing in the pool together! YEA SUMMER!!
