July 4th!

God bless America!!! What a day we had!! This is my first major holiday since starting the blog so {PLEASE HOLD} for manymanymany pictures and this wasn't even all of them! I was even starting to think "do I need to scrapbook these since they are on the blog???" I am sure I know heath's answer to that!!! But really...I scrapbook so my memories are down on paper for us to look back at (as well as many other reasons) but since I have been such a blog addict lately I feel like I am achieving that RIGHT HERE!!! No worries to Heath or my cropping besties... I DO NOT PLAN ON CUTTING BACK MY SCRAPBOOKING TIME!!! but I will figure out a system so that the books don't look just like the blog.

...so here we go on to the celebration of the day. After we cleaned up the garage sale mess Crosby and I hit the kitchen. I love how my girls will jump right in and create in the kitchen. So unlike their mother!!==I prefer pretty paper and pictures! We made salsa (per Dennis' request!) and our traditional flag dessert. I am NOT joking when I say Cros did all of the fruit. She did an awesome job and everyone thought the cake was sooo yummy!!
Then we headed to the Wood's house for a BBQ. It was the perfect place for us to be. Heath and Dennis aka Jenni Craig and Richard Simmons (they made some beer influenced bet as to who could lose the most weight in 30 days...updates on that one later!) are total BFFs, there are always a ton of kiddos there for our girls to play with and since Lindsay just had her baby last week (and her sister Rachel that is due this Thursday was there) we had tons of uterus and birthing discussions to keep us busy while eating and lounging indoors!!

We took a break from the pool and ran out south of town to buy some fireworks for the girls.
Then at dark it was off to Sonner Stadium at Southwestern College to watch the big fireworks. This is such as great thing to do. I have great memories of this as a child and now I know why!! This is right where they shoot the community fireworks so you feel like you are right underneath!! They blast the patriotic music and you can lay on a blanket in the grass or sit in the stadium. We chose the BLEACHERS all the way!! No bugs for me...no way!!! We were all pretty much in awe since this was a first for us as a family and I got some great pics!!!
Adler flinching from the boom and Crosby squealing with delight!!!

is this heath's thinking or firework face???? i can't tell the difference! :)

thank goodness for Adler's mad photo skills or I would not have been in a SINGLE picture!!
Crosby had a blast taking pictures of the fireworks! My camera has a fireworks feature and this is how they turned out---FUN!!! ...of course she took about 1,000 pictures!!!

look mom!!!

then they had to race on the track. heath had them run a 400! no kidding! Crosby even made it the whole way without stopping---he was soo excited about that!! I was like DUH of course she can do that look who her mom is!! ;) I think he plans on taking credit for all of their athletic ability!!
ahh... sisters

and to wrap up the evening back to our front yard to shoot off what we had bought earlier. illegal as it was I am sure!!!

whew...a great day was had by all!!! Happy Independence Day!!
