Technically it is Monday and as you can see I am playing some BLOG catch-up. Now that I am to Friday I will stop and explain why. I think I over did it this week... between my pregnancy, bible school, softball, keeping up with domestic crap (Right LINDS?!?! :), and trying to keep the girls occupied I did myself in. I came down with a TERRIBLE cold that put me on bed rest Friday evening and all day Saturday. And what timing too...I had a packed day planned for Saturday and had to MISS IT ALL! I missed the girls' playing 4 softball games in the Wellington tournament, my dear friend L. Wood's baby shower, and THE PJ CROP!!! U KNOW I am sick when I miss a crop with my girls Foxy and Steff!! I was soo BUMMED OUT but was literally THAT SICK. I have some sort of chest cold that feels like razor blades are cutting my throat and chest. I have now had this TWICE with this baby and only ONE other time in my life...when I was pregnant with THE CROS!!!! I guess just being pregnant and all of the lovely things that go along with that aren't enough that having a terrible sickness must be added on top!! And to make matters worse I had to wait til this morning to call the doctor and the nurse STILL HASN'T CALLED ME BACK! I am a little ticked cause it has been 5 hours since I called and I am not a pushy person but I am thinking I need to call back again. UGH!!! So I am blogging to keep my mind off of that whole deal... here are some pictures from VBS on Friday.
Crosby took Clover as her guest!! They were both so excited.
Chelo and her friends from the 3rd and 4th grade group Adler's 5th and 6th graders got to teach the lesson to all of the other kids today COOL!
And here she is again Cool Kid Crosby
putting her all into music time!
Mandy let Adler read the bible lesson at the end of the day.
Crosby jumped right up to tell what her best memory from the week was----Singing of course!!
Last night we went to the VBS swimming party. It was in the 70s I think so it was pretty cold out but it didn't stop the kids. Crosby was pretty cold and shivering but she still swam for an hour then hung with me and ate snacks the rest of the time. I am thinking that this may be the perfect time to have another baby. Crosby is still momma's girl but is getting to be independent and BIG so she is out of momma's baby stage. She is excited about being a big sister and I really don't think we will have the jealousy issues we may have had if they were closer together.
Then it was off to SONIC...Grandpa and Grandma Curtis invited us to go with them for FREE rootbeer floats (sonic was giving them away). What a fun summer evening!!
Bob Sr. and Bob Jr.!!!!!
We sat at the middle tables and visited for almost 2 hours!
Here are some more VBS pics from the past 2 days!!!!
The Curtis' are officially in the FULL swing of summer! Back to Derby we went last night with the Ripits for our first double header {kick...what was that???}. To pass the time Mimi and Crosby had their own little fishing Derby in Derby of course {kick kick.... oh I know what that is...I have been able to feel baby pumpkin for a couple of weeks now. At first it just felt like I had a goldfish swimming around in my tummy and now we have progressed to little punches and kicks!! soo exciting!}
As for the froggies... we got one Ripit dance out of the deal. We lost our first game by a mile (that same team will be at our tournament in Wellington this weekend--YIPEE) but that is okay. The girls came back and won the second game in their usual exiting manner!! Win or lose we love watching them play (okay, the wins sure are a lot nicer!!) and improve each game. Our girls aren't afraid to step up to the plate and face those fast pitchers... now they might not always get hits but the determination is there. Adler made a great play at the plate tonight and Chel NEARLY caught another fly ball (one of these days that ball is going to stay in her glove and I am going to go nuts!!).
With the first week of summer comes vacation bible school. We take the girls to the Lutheran Church (where Chelo goes to school). This year Mandy is heading it up and she asked me to help, so I am walking around taking pictures of the kids and putting together the daily newsletter. This is the PERFECT job for me and I am having a good time with it...except for the part that I have to get up and get the girls all ready in the SEVENS!! ...o'clock that is... in the summer??? "Crobby momma say WHAT!?!?!" Here are a few pics of the girls at VBS. They are really enjoying it and it is sooo cute to watch my girls participate fully and happily---I like to see them being leaders and positive role models.
Crosby really getting into the music time!! I wonder where she gets that... Grammy you should be sooo proud!
Adler and Taylor Byerly at music.
Chelo and Kara Eastman painting their paper mache worlds.
Well this post is starting to sound like my children are perfect little angles when in fact they have been DRIVING ME NUTSO already. Adler and Crosby bicker constantly and it makes me crazy! I am thinking about calling about teaching summer school so I can get back to work. KIDDING!! NEVER! I can handle it but they sure can make me a little crazy. I look forward to Heath getting home from work that is for sure!!
