11 Months!! And some BIG News!

Our little girl is growing up sooo quickly!! In just one month she will be having a birthday party! And another BIG event is coming up for her in a few months!...................

Our baby Paisley is going to be a BIG sister!!! I know, can you BELIEVE it?!?!? We were planning on having ONE more and by golly if it didn't happen much soon than later!!
We feel very lucky and blessed to be having this baby. Since it took us close to 2 years to be pregnant with Paisley we had anticipated some wait again this time around and much to our surprise we wouldn't have to wait for our last baby AT ALL!!! I will post another pregnancy post soon, I just HAD to share!...but for now I must get back to my current little love bug!

She is a clapping and waving FOOL these days. She has been doing both for a while but has recently been doing it more that usual. clapping when she hears music and other people clapping..waving at anyone who will wave back at her. Really interacting with people now! We went to the SC homecoming parade Saturday and one of the floats went by and everyone was smiling and waving at us. we looked at Paisley in her stroller and she was waving at everyone going by---tooo cute!!!

This is her "pointing" at the camera. She can point with just her pointer finger though but sometimes it is a whole hand point.

At 11 months Paisley Ryan is.....

  • Walking and running eveywhere
  • eating anything and everything we offer
  • shaking her head if she is full and doesn't want another bite
  • throwing her bottle when she is done drinking
  • bursting out of 12 month clothes and beginning to wear mostly 18 months
  • in size 5 shoes
  • starting to accept that it is cold and she has to wear shoes (and is finally learning how to walk in them). She HATES anything confining...shoes, clothes... just like crosby did.
  • has 7 teeth
  • climbs stairs like a champ (much to our panic!)
  • she can get on her tummy and crawl down off of the couch or her trampoline
  • sleeping 8pm to 7am plus morning, afternoon, and evening 2 hour naps
  • still wearing size 3 diapers
  • gives hugs and kisses on command (she has a one arm and two arm version of her hugs!)
  • she will lay her head on your chest when she is giving mommy and daddy love.
  • is starting to be a TOTAL daddy's girl...just like the rest of them!! Maybe i'll have a boy this time and get one for myself!!

Well, that is about all I can think of for now. I will be back in a day or two with our Pregnancy Story!!!

10 Months Old!!

And she is FULL on Walking! No longer crawling at all. And getting into EVERYTHING. I can't take my eyes off of her for a second. She knows EXACTLY what she is not to get into (dog bowl, light socket, wine rack, cups full of liquid left on the coffee table, stairs....) and that is what she goes for first!! It is exhausting keeping up with her and I am still taking a morning nap at the same time she does and then the rest of her naps are spent getting things done or hanging out with the big girls.

Here is what else Paisley is up to at 10 months:
  • she has her two top and two bottom teeth
  • her top teeth have a gap between them just like Crosby and I did
  • she BARELY bends her knees when she walks so she wobbles all over the house
  • her favorite toy is still her singing piggy (i think she likes it cause it is so soft!)
  • she LOVES her soft blankies and if you ask her "Is that your soffie?" she will rub her face back and forth on it!
  • She says MAMA especially when she is upset and needing me. This is a great first for me as a mom because all of her sister's first word was DADA!
  • She eats all table food and loves everything!
  • She always stands up in her high chair and it drives me CRAZY!
  • We call her "Skinny Ninny" "Ninny Marie" "Paileys" ...all kinds of random stuff!
  • She is a very happy and easy going baby. But once in a while she can be Stubborn!!
  • She is in a big girl car seat now
  • She LOVES to watch the puppies, kitties, and birds. She can be mesmerized by them!

Well, that is all I can think of for now....she is napping so it is off to get a few more things done! we have Bluegrass and CropAGanza both coming up this week! Oh yeah and back to school for the girls! And they are READY!!!

9 Months Already!!!

I just can't believe it. It almost isn't fair how fast they grow! Our little baby is now 9 months old the length of my pregnancy that I thought seemed to last forever!! And now the last nine months have gone by in a heart beat!! I have even started birthday shopping for her! I ordered a chenille pink blankey with pailey fabric on the other side that I am going to have her name embroidered on! (Either her whole name or a big letter P--which do you think??) I hope it will be THE Blanket that she loves on forever. She has several "softies" that she loves (see pics above for her lite pink one). She really isn't a blanket snob...all she cares about that it is SOFT!! She already loves to lay in bed sucking her thumb with her blankie pressed to her cheek. It literally soothes her immediately. Anyway I wanted to do something REALLY special and when I was in my friend Melissa's mom's new store, Initially Yours, I saw the CUTEST paisley burp cloth and I asked them to make me a full size blanket! I am sooo excited. I have one other idea for her but more on that later!

So at 9 months Paisley is.....

  • crawling like a mad woman!! She is sooo loud when she crawls, slapping her hands on the ground!!

  • babbling "mama" and "dada" and will look at the right person if we say "where is mama?" "where is dada?"

  • standing unasisted for several seconds at a time.

  • getting herself to standing from a bear crawl

  • just got a top tooth. so now she has a lower right and an upper left. Heath says its the jack-o-lantern look!!

  • walking while pushing a rolling object like her baby stroller. Did you see the video on this post?

  • trying and liking a lot of new table foods

  • still sleeping about 15 hours a day

  • getting in to EVERYTHING!!!

8 Months Old!!

8 months is VERY active for our little one!! She is into EVERYTHING all of the time! I have pretty much put everything on the back burner this summer so I can keep an eye on her!! She is VERY mobile and gets in to everything! She especially loves all things that are NOT her toys!! She is really into the dogs, their toys, and food!! She can unfold a whole basket of laundry in 2 seconds and can climb the stairs like a champ!! Other things going on this month:
  • She got her first bottom tooth!!! She's been a little cranky about it but not too bad.
  • She pulls up on anything and everything. She actually prefers to stand and will get up on all fours and walk like a bear!
  • Her crawling has progressed from army crawl to caterpillar to full speed ahead!
  • She says "dada" really softly and "MAMA" when she cries (already has it figured out!!)
  • She loves to eat little fruit puffs (which she can feed herself), cereal, and veggies.
  • If you help her drink water out of your cup she will drink the whole thing!
  • She LOVES to watch her sisters play and they LOVE to play with her (for short periods of time!!)
  • she has TONS of brown hair. She has had one haircut and her dad thinks it looks like a boy's! So Grammy started putting ponytails in it! They stick straight up like Pebbles but we think she looks pretty darn cute!!
  • the tops of her feet are always black from crawling around (I sweep, I swear!!!)

Well, she has found the cord to my laptop so I guess that is all I have time for now!!!

Six Months!!!

We can't believe we have had her for half of a YEAR!! It's just not FAIR how fast they grow!

checking Jared out as Beckett escapes the photo shoot!!

she loves her piggies!

with cousin Beckett (1 year)
Click HERE for a look back at: 2 weeks 1 month 2 months 3 months 4 months 5 months
These pictures are soooo adorable and just CRACK me UP because they show part of her little personality! Look how in most of these she has her eyebrows wrinkled together...that is her way of saying "What EXACTLY is going on here???" She was just CHECKING Jared out with his camera and wondering what on earth he was doing!! Which leads too....

What Baby Paisley is up to at 6 months:

In addition to previous month's activities of sucking her thumb (either one-no preference yet), being a happy baby, squealing and blowing raspberries....

  • her BLUE eyes are still piercing

  • she is still a momma's girl and kicks her feet HARD when I come in the room!

  • she is starting to cry when we put her down (oh no!)

  • She has tried veggies and juice (still on the fence with both; milk and cereal are her #1 loves still)

  • her little legs are almost getting too chubby for her bumbo!! But she's not quite ready for her high chair yet

  • she can sit only for a couple of seconds and slumps pretty far forward when she does

  • no teeth yet but I feel for one everyday---it's not too much longer I don't think

  • she likes her exersaucer but isn't into the stroller yet

  • she is starting to wave "bye bye"

  • she LOVES to be outside (especially with her daddy on the porch swing)

  • she is wearing 6-12 month clothes

  • As far as shoes go, she is is still in size one i think. Since the weather is nice she mostly goes barefoot or wears her pink Robeez
  • Her dark hair seems to get lighter ever month but it is definitely still brown
  • Her skin has a VERY pale tone
  • she LOVE the texture of her blankies and burp towels. She holds them by her face when she sucks her thumb and will most times pull the covers over her head when she is sleeping (good thing we bought the video monitor for her so I can go uncover her when I need to!)
  • She likes to nap in the evenings (7:30-9:30) then will wake up and eat a few ounces and go back to sleep from about 10:15pm-6:30am.
  • when she wakes up she rarely cries...just rolls around and plays in her bed with her toys until I come in to get her

whew...I am sure there are a TON more Paisley-isms but that is it for this month. We go to the doctor in a few weeks so I will update her height and weight then!!

5 Months Old ***Tons of Pictures!!!

Paisley at five months......
  • you can roll both ways:  front to back and back to front (the other day you were on your back on your playmat and I checked on you a few minutes later and you were completely off of it smiling away!
  • you love your baby Oatmeal!
  • you blow rasberries
  • you don't sit in your swing anymore--you perfer the exersaucer
  • you love the porch swing outside!
  • you make squealing noises (your "talking")

  • You LOVE your MOMMA!
  • Your eyes are still really BIG and BLUE
  • people come up to us all of the time in public and tell us how cute you are---and we have to agree!

  • you CRY when we take your bottle out of your mouth
  • when you see a full bottle you kick your feet, stare at it, and reach for it
  • When you are tired you rub your eyes and suck your thumb
  • And MOST of all you are a sweet little baby that we love soo much!!!

Look Who is FOUR Months Old!!

We brought Crosby's exersaucer up from the basement and got it all washed up as good as new for Paisley.  We set her in it and she really liked it, I think!  Now that she is 4 months old she can really hold her head up now and is starting to be interested in colorful toys and seeing her reflection.  We love watching her little personality develop and grow.  things we have seen this month:

  • she is a Happy girl.  especially in the mornings.  when i go into her room in the morning to get her out of bed (she is usually laying there sucking her thumb) she looks up at me smiles, and starts kicking her feet like CRAZY!!

  • she is definitely a mama's girl right now!!  (probably because I am still nursing her some)

  • she REALLY likes her cereal and eats it about as fast as you can spoon it in.

  • we started her on formula and cereal this week.  I am still nursing 3 times per day and we are supplementing and she seems to have made the transition just fine.  I would love to nurse until she is 12 months but with our schedule it is time to back it off a little.  so far I am fine with that decision and she seems to be too, even though she still LOVES it when I nurse her.

  • She has a "puzzled" look she gives that is just the sweetest.  When someone is holding her that she isn't so familiar with she wrinkles her brow and just checks the person out.  One time when we were out of town Grammy stayed the night with them and slept in our bed with her.  She said Paisley woke up the next morning and just looked and looked at her with this face---not understanding where her mama was!

  • She is a FULL Fledged thumb sucker now!

  • The other day I saw her just staring at her hands with her puzzled look.  She seemed to be wondering what in the heck they were!!

  • We go to the doctor this week for 4 month shots -OUCHY! so I will update her weight and length then.

  • She is wearing 3-6 month clothes now and size 1 shoes (she has TEENY TINY feeties!!)

  • Her momma has been really busy with parent/teacher conferences and school this week so we plan to post some new 4 month pictures soon!  Spring Break starts Thursday YAY!

3 Months Old

Our little Valentine is already three months old and just as sweet as can be! She loves to smile and talk about her day. aka coo! She is her happiest in the morning right after her breakfast. It definitely makes it harder for me to go to work that way!! We get lots of snuggles and kisses in before I have to leave though and cherish those precious days off that we can spend together in our nice warm house. It has been cold and snowy all month so she lives in her jammies and a sleep sack. We went to this outfit in early December because her little hands were always freezing and she seems to stay nice and warm this way. We have tons of cute little outfits (i am especially loving red and pink color combos for her!) that aren't getting as much use as I would like. It is just too DARN cold!! But for special outings and occasions we break out the big bows, cute dresses and shiny shoes for sure!

As far as her eating goes...we are still nursing. I feel like I am getting to a point where I could switch her to formula and be okay with my decision. But after long talks with her daddy "we" have decided to go at least one more month and I am fine with that. She is still sleeping in our room but is rarely waking in the night anymore. Saturday night she slept from 11pm-11am!!! I kept checking to see if she was breathing!! Of course I woke bright and early that day and couldn't go back to sleep-DARN!

This month we have a big challenge ahead. In a few days I will be gone for the whole weekend and she will be staying at home with Daddy (and some help from her grandmas). I know she will be fine...as will I. I just know I will sooo miss her and I am hoping I don't shed too many tears or worry too much while I am gone from her for the first time overnight. (and will be for 2 nights! EEKS!)

She was so cute today!!! I was priceless. I sang Happy Birthday to her in english and spanish and we talked about all her plans for the future...eating french fries, going to the park, riding bikes.... she just smiled away letting me be silly!!! Happy 3 months baby girl! (adler pointed out that this is like her 1 year-since she was in my tummy for 9 months...how smart!)

2 Months Old!

As I suspected...two months with baby Paisley have gone so fast! She is ALL smiles right now, especially when she has a full tummy!! She will even give a little giggle if she is really happy. She will coo and "talk" when we talk to her in our soft baby voice. She is loving her swing more these days (thank goodness) but doesn't really like being on her tummy much (even though she can hold her head up pretty well). As for her physical features...her hair is definitely getting lighter but still brown and her eyes are still dark blue. Most people say she looks like Crosby but heck, I can't tell!! She is a roly poly for sure!!!--much unlike her sister. At her 2 month appointment (she had to get 3 shots in her little thighs--she did cry pretty hard and me, well a few tears, but not too bad!) she weighed 12 lbs 14oz...height 23 1/2. She started going to grammy's this week (since I had to go back to teaching after being off for 2 1/2 months). She went 2 days this week and did just fine. It is FREEZING cold right now so we are trying to keep her at home as much as possible and I want to thank Georgia and Anna for coming over to stay with her. It helped me a lot to know that my baby was nice and snuggly warm at home. The transition back to work is hard enough without the weather factor---SHEESH!! I am glad to be back to work to see my teacher friends and MOST of the students!!! If a mommy has to work---I'd say this is a pretty good occupation (though already looking forward to Spring Break!!) Paisley is starting to do new things everyday (like watch her sisters very intently when they talk to her), so this is a very exciting time. I think my favorite has to be that she will mimic me patting her back to burp her and actually make a patting motion herself. LOVE IT!!! Every moment... even the sleepless ones--- we made it all night last night 10pm-6am for the first time YAY!!!! so why am I still soo tired?? :)
Nicknames for her this month: Wunkles Curtis, Wunk-a-leez, Baby Peach, Princess Paisley Peach, Buggy, Leezy, Pais

Smiley Face!

She is able to see things farther away now and as a result will mimic a smile of the person holding her-especially mommy and daddy. It is so adorable to see her little face light up voluntarily (and not just b/c she has gas!!)

1 Month OLD!!

I just can't believe our little Ladybug is one month old already! It just doesn't seem like we have had her that long...yet we can't imagine life without her! She is filling out quickly (probably weighing in the 9lb. range by now). She has developed a sleeping/eating routine and that is nice. Every week she sleeps longer and longer and last night she slept from midnight til 5:30am!! That is the most uninterrupted sleep we have gotten since she arrived! WOOHOO! And everyone knows that I am a sleepyhead by nature so coupled with a CRAZY sleep schedule we are not getting up and around til about noon then cuddling and relaxing the rest of the afternoon. I really look forward to 3pm when Adler gets home. She has been the biggest help, holding the baby and doing any chores I need her to do. We still have another month until I go back to school and she goes to Grammy's during the day so I am taking time to cherish every moment of our quiet time together!

Two Weeks Old!

2 Weeks ago today our little Ladybug was born. It has gone pretty fast since we spent most of the first week in the hospital. She still seems VERY tiny but I can see her cheeks filling out some. She sleeps most of the day but wakes up about every 2 1/2 hours to nurse and then immediately passes back out (she is opening her eyes more and more and become more alert every day though). i call it her sleepy juice! I am still trying to adjust to this routine since daddy is working 12-14 hour days lately so I handle all of the night feedings and changings. He will burp her and change her panties when he is home though. He is also becoming the KING of Farkle on Facebook while holding his sleeping baby! By the time I feel like I am caught up on sleep for the day it is usually about noon and then we relax the rest of the day. Well, she is crying so off to feed my girl...
