Easter 2010

As always, Easter is one BUSY holiday!!  There are just so many fun things going on we are pretty busy all weekend, non-stop.  Since our time with the big girls changes (we only have them every other year, each holiday) we try to be positive and accept that it is our situation and celebrate as normal but miss them like crazy!!!  As you will see, Adler isn't in any of the Easter pics because she was with Terah and Dalton in Liberal this year.  Our holidays are a wonderful mix of tradition and new adventure and I LOVE that!

This year the Curtis kids dyed eggs at TJ and Kelli's in Ark City.

A tradition from my childhood that I have passed on to my daughters is the Bunny Nest.  The night before Easter each girl makes a "nest" out of blankets outside their bedroom doors for the Easter Bunny to leave them goodies in.  Here is a picture of Crosby with her nest---what a HAUL!!  She got a whole bunch of fun Spring toys and candy.

As we did last year (follow this link to read our 2009 Easter post) we went to church at Trinity in Ark City with our Curtis cousins.  This year Kel and I (the dads were hiding eggs for the afternoon's hunt) had SEVEN kiddos with us.  The six girls and Eyan!!  What we were thinking I will never know.  We took up a whole pew and it was a LIVELY bunch!!  We had 2 babies squealing, coloring, toy playing, boredom, and attempted texting, all while Kel and I were standing, sitting, kneeling, singing, and trying to follow the service!!!  At one point my niece Braylinn decided she was ready to be finished with the Easter service and wanted to let GOD hear about it in a BIG way!!!!  Kel took her outside to attempt to quiet her.  In the mean time baby Paisley (at her first church service) decided to agree with her cousin!!  I tried rocking, calming, and walking her at the back of the sanctuary but to no avail.  I finally gave up and headed outside to join Kelli.  After a few minutes outside I realized that Kelli's car was not parked behind mine anymore and figured she must have decided to run Bray to her daddy...which was just fine until I realized that there were FIVE kids unattended in church!!  So I high tailed it back inside-crying baby in tow!!  Luckily the kiddos were being good and Mother Betty insisted that the sounds of children only added joy to the service---i KNEW that was directed at us!!  I am sure Kelli and I had some hugely apoloqetic looks on our faces!!!  Anyway- we survived the service and concluded that this was an experience we would NEVER forget and we were glad we went!!

Our church has an egg hunt right after the service and the little ones had a great time with that!

After church it was out to Adalinn's "Nana" and Grandpa Graves' house to spend the afternoon.

They have an AMAZING amount of land that the daddy's had hidden eggs on.  It was AWESOME to see them running in all directions in search of the candy filled eggs!!

Here are some FUN little videos of the kiddos on the "hunt"!

We forgot to tell Addy and Cros that there were PLENTY of eggs!!  No need to compete for the same one!

Braylinn and Aunt Kelli walking around taking pictures.  She got some REALLY good ones (some of these are "borrowed" from her blog---her camera is about 100x better than mine!!  I know what I am asking for for Mother's Day!!)

Chelo in her pretty Easter dress with her basket of Eggs...

and after the hunt....we had a FEAST of food to celebrate the day!!  Wow, it definitely made me stop to think how lucky we are to have so many blessing and to be surrounded by friends and family on such a BEAUTIFUL day!

OM, I almost forgot these pictures....

I participated in my first ever egg toss!!  In my dress!  NICE!
I gave Adalinn my camera and she ended up with several good ones!!  Notice the lower vantage point!!  LOVE IT!!
I think Heath wanted a different partner!!  We did okay but I kept thinking it was going to break all over me and eventually I jumped out of the way and it broke on the ground.  I was REALLY surprised how far apart some of the teams got-IMPRESSIVE!  Then we realized the winning team had a hard boiled egg- cheaters!!
These last two pics were taken by Aunt Kelli.  Aren't they sooo good?!?!  I can't WAIT to scrapbook these wonderful pictures of her on her first Easter---thanks Kel!
Her Grammy will LOVE this one!!

Happy Easter to all of our friends and family...ours is a life that is truly BLESSED...and hectic!!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Crosby had her Easter Party at school today and she decided she wanted to go as a BUNNY so she had me put her hair in piggy tails for bunny ears and we drew whiskers on her cheeks, and Grammy "pinked" her nose with lipstick.  She was so excited to go to school as a bunny for her party (I thought it was sooo CUTE cause it wasn't a dress up party, she wanted to do it 'just because'!),  She LOVESLOVES her school and is really going to miss it next year but I KNOW she will LOVE kindergarten just as much!  Her teachers told Grammy the other day that they didn't know what they were going to do next year without Crosby there since she has been going to Montessouri for THREE years now!!!

Whew!!!

Well, another weekend came quickly to a close and Whew was it a busy one!!! I got my tooth fixed last week--as good as new and even had a little extra time to get my toes done and spend a little extra time with my Crosby before we picked up Adler and Chelo from school. As usual my pictures are posted in the wrong order---bear with me!!!

Last night our niece Adalinn spent the night and we died eggs. I liked this picture of Adler on the phone with Mimi, she looks so grown up!!!
And of course the two goof balls were 3/4 naked while dying eggs!!! We laughed so hard!! Adalinn knows everything there is to know about dying eggs so that was a BIG help!!

The deep sea divers got scuba gear along with some other fun things in there Easter bunny nests!! Aren't they HILARIOUS!!!??!! They woke me up at 7am on Sunday morning looking at me like this!! Even though it was funny momma can't be getting up that early on a weekend!!

My SIL Kelli and I took our 7 daughters (including Mah) to church. We were quite a site. Wow, 9 girls at Easter service and another on the way.... it might as well be another girl to fit in with this posse!

Crosby checking out the loot the Easter bunny left her in her bunny nest (our LONG standing Easter tradition).
Grammy came up to Winfield Saturday evening. Since the weather was going to be rainy on Sunday (and it did rain ALL day long!!) we decided on the night before. Mom and Heath hid the eggs filled with $$ and candy. The girls had a blast running all over the place!!
Adler's HAUL

Wow Chelo, TOUGHIE!!!

Crosby did a really good job finding some hard ones!!
Adler is looking for that elusive golden egg!!!!

Coach Curtis giving his team a pep talk at half time!! That is Crosby with her back to the camera. She is doing awesome, I will post more pics of the season as we go!! Oh and that little boy was just hugging on Heath's neck the whole time (until I took the picture of course). It was sooo cute!!!
We were out of school for Good Friday so Adler, Crosby, and I headed to Old Navy to purchase out Summer flip flops and some clothes. We ended up with about 20 pair at least!!! Our basket was OVERFLOWING with pretty flip flops. At $2.50 a pair how could we resist?!?!? When we were done we high tailed it to the nearest Sonic (thanks Renee!!) for Happy Hour. we made it with minutes to spare and each got a drink and a snack.
Crosby is one hot mama in her new sunglasses!!!!!
Happy Monday everyone!! Have a great week!!! I am sure there will be tons to post!! We have so many activities this week my head is swimming. Not a good time to be EXHAUSTED!! I am in the last week of my first trimester so I am hoping the tiredness and nausea are coming to an end!!
