Tanning

So I'm doing a little catching up now....since I can't blog during my lunch break anymore (due to our lack of bandwidth BP has blocked almost all internet sites) my blog has definitely taken a hit. Instead of eating in the lounge with my teacher friends I used to take that time for myself to eat, blog, and catch up with my blog friends. Now I am trying to do that in the evenings and we all know how hectic week nights are so unfortunately it just hasn't been happening. so I'm plaaing on posting a couple of golden oldies this morning to get me back on track!

Adalinn came over to spend the night with Crosby and they decided to get out the stickers and "tan" hoping to have "tatoos" when they were finished. First of all it was about 5 o'clock and secondly they were only out there long enough to get the stickers on before they got bored!! But it was certainly cute to watch!

This is the tatoo I have on my foot. My sorority letters from college so cros wanted one of those too.

This is Adalinn's leg...she was spelling "my best cousin" Those two are just too cute!!

Happy 7th Birthday Adalinn!!

My SIL Kelli started a new blog last week and I am having fun reading it everyday (because even though we spend time with them often there are still so many little things they do that I can keep up on through their blog---that is why i LOVE these things!!!  Another perk to my SIL's new blog is that I can "borrow" pictures from her...things I may have missed or great shots that she gets with her new camera.

My niece Addy had her 7th birthday party at Sally's Palace in Ark City on Saturday.  (read more about it on Kelli's blog)  Since Sunday (Easter) was going to be a busy day for us Heath said he would take Crosby so I could stay home with the baby, clean the house, and get everything ready for the next day---ahhh what a guy!  I sent my camera with him and he got some pics for me (but I am also borrowing a couple from Kel to help this post out!!)

These two call each other "best cousins" and "twin."  They are so close and I love it!!
The shorties did the LIMBO!!!  The birthday girl won it!!  With her cousin coming in second!
Good thing we put shorts on under her dress!!!  (Not that she would've noticed or cared!!)
They also played other games and danced--HOW FUN!
Heath hanging out with his nephew Eyan.

Kelli made a cool Barbie cake using a real doll!!!
What a Betty Crocker she is!

We love you Adalinn!!!
It is HARD to believe you are already 7!!!!

My Last Monday :(

Today is the last Monday I don't have to teach before going back to school. I can't believe how fast it has gone and how much Paisley is already growing....but that is all for another post. Today we had some fun things planned. My dear MIL came over to my house and stayed with the girls---even the baby, so that was a BIG DEAL you know cause this was the longest time I would spend away from her so far!! You KNOW it must have been important!! and it WAS, I went to Wichita to meet Lindsay and my fellow bridesmaids to try on our dresses!!! This is a pic of our dresses except the green pieces are going to be blue. L.Fox's dress was gorgeous!! I had only seen pictures of it so seeing it in real life got me a little teary!! It definitely sunk in that my dear friend Foxy Booksy is about to be Mrs. Jeremy Hall!! Wow!!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....

Crosby and her "TWIN" (they kept calling themselves this b/c of their new matching iCarly jammies) were having a blast! Crosby had been getting a little stir-crazy cooped up in the house all week because of the weather---she is SUCH an active outdoor loving girl!!---so she invited her bestest cousin Adalinn over to spend the night. Adalinn was so excited to come over and show Crosby the new NintendoDS she had gotten for Christmas (that they promptly "decorated" with stickers to make it pretty like Crosby's---sorry Kel!!)...so the "twins" played games and sent messages to each other all evening...along with playing school and dress up and watching movies...those two are soo busy when they get together!! When grandma was babysitting she said they got in one little tiff that resulted in some tears (from both twinnies) over who was going to wear the polka dot ballerina outfit. Usually one of these disagreements happen each time they are together for more than one day in a row but they are so much like sisters in that they are over it and back to their BFFness in no time. I LOVE that about them!!!

Curtis Family Campout Day 1

It is Saturday morning and instead of being at the campout i am at home blogging! Why do you ask??? Because I am out of my MIND if I thought I could camp and be this pregnant. Now, I can be a TROOPER but when we get to the campground and my husband can't get the air conditioning going in our camper, that should have been my first RED FLAG that this trip wasn't going to be for me!! I decided to stick it out---the girls were having so much fun fishing with their dad and I was hanging out with my SIL Kelli so I thought, I'll be okay. When it was time to go to bed my dear, sweet in-laws let us sleep in their camper that had working AC! Well everyone was snoozing away and I was still up reading at 1am cause the bed was hard and I was having trouble getting comfy. I turned out the lights and laid there for about 30 minutes all the while thinking "I just don't feel any air circulating." At 1:50am I got up to check on the AC, went to flip on the light and ...nothing!! I woke Heath up to tell him that he needed to go check the generator. He got up but assured me that he had NO IDEA how to get it started, and of course WE DON'T HAVE A WORKING FLASHLIGHT WITH US!!! At this point I started crying and going over my options in my head. #1 Maneuver the bumpy dirt/grass road I had only seen in daylight and try to open the gate myself and Go home alone #2 Load up the girls and have Heath take us all home #3 SUCK IT UP!!! I rolled with #3. I went to my HOT camper and cried a little more and eventually fell asleep. It wasn't my bed at home but our camper is my space and so I knew that would be my best chance at making it through the night. Well, I did and I woke up bright and early this morning laying in bed trying to decide what I wanted to do. The simple fact that I had cried 3 TIMES-which is out of character for me, even pregnant--- was a sure sign that I was MISERABLE!! As these thoughts are running through my head Heath came into the camper and said he was gong to run home and let the dogs out. I decided that was my cue and I volunteered to go promising my DEAR MIL that I would be back by 7pm for the LUAU!!!!! I had no more than been home 10 minutes when Adler called with an earache and Crosby with some mysterious leg pain?!?! I think Chel was still sleeping off the night before's injury when one of her boy cousins was casting his pole and the hook caught her thumb!! (She wasn't sure she was going to make it!! She did have a little cut that we got all fixed up but the sight of her blood FREAKED her out big time! She was Shaking and Crying sooo hard! Poor thing!) We will see how long they last out there without the comforts of home and the lovin from their momma. I am giving them til about noon {wink ;)} We all just love being at our house---What can we say??? I plan on posting more pics tomorrow from the Luau festivities...if you scroll to the bottom of the page you can see a little video I put together and here are a couple of other pics that didn't make it to the video for some reason!!???!!

Crosby with cousin Arlie strummin' their 6 strings!!! Cros and cousin Adalinn are dancing fools! Check out Addy's new do!!!

Our Eventful Saturday SO Far...

Mah is leaving tomorrow to go home to Brazil so the girls spent some time with her this morning. Then....

We took the girls plus Adalinn to the movies to see UP! We thought it was SUPER cute--even though we thought it was 3D so that was a little bummer--guess that is not happenin at our theater. It cost us $60 to take for the movies and snacks! HOLY COW!! I think we well let Grammy take them to the next one :)
Oh, and during the movie I heard this little snore and I looked over at Heath and said "Are you sleeping?????" "just for a second" he said... at this was the 2pm matinee... have I mentioned his nickname Narcolepsy Man???? He could fall asleep anytime anywhere!!
And of course as luck and good timing would have it ;) as we were getting out of the car at home---here came the ice cream truck! I must be a push over mom cause I just can't say no to the ice cream truck! Maybe it was because Landon and I grew up living outside of town and the ice cream man never came by our house {sniff :)} So I went to get my camera and wallet and saw the sweetest scene of the girls standing patiently on the corner waving to the ice cream guy!

A summer Saturday doesn't get much better than this!! I think we will cookout now while the girls swim....ah how can you NOT JUST LOVE SUMMER???!!!!???

Adalinn's First Time in Our Pool

Addy didn't know how much she was going to like it but once they got in she was swimming away. Those two have such a bond---they are so lucky to have the chance to grow up together. Some of my best memories were playing on my grandparent's farm with Kami, Nathan, and Grant when we were kids. We were fortunate to have each other growing up. And on the other side of the family... we didn't get to meet Jared, Joel, and Jodi until we were in our late teens--early twenties-- but we have had the BEST TIMES making up for those lost years... right cousins???? I truly think of them more as brothers and sisters than cousins and even though too many miles separate us all (we represent Kansas, Arizona, Texas, Minnesota, California, and Florida---crazy right???) we do a good job of keeping in touch. I miss and love you all very much!! And my close relationship to them makes it that much more important that my girls spend as much time with their cousins in these precious young years!!
