Snow Day!

I was COOOLLLDDD and snowy today. Heath wanted to make sure the sidewalks were clear for his MIL and preggo wifey (so sweet). Paisley just stood at the door watching her daddy and waving at him. She doesn't know what to think of all of this snow! It was the cutest sight and when Crosby asked if they could go outside and play it didn't take long to convince me to help them bundle up. After all it is Kansas and we never know how long the snow will stick around!

I was early evening and quite cold but they didn't seem to mind. Even Paisley who normally REFUSES to wear her hat had no problem getting in her snow gear. She just stood and MARVELED at the snow. She absolutely was in awe. She didn't touch the snow and hardly left one spot. It was a very sweet and innocent sight for me to watch her taking in this new wonder. She was VERY sad when it was time to go in. She just cried and cried :(

Crosby LOVES to dig and play in the snow. She was wailing snowballs at everyone in her path including her baby sister! It doesn't take her long to get cold though so she didn't last too long outside (oh darn!) She didn't know what to think about all of the gear she had to wear. I think she likes her new boots but the gloves and coat were off and on the whole time and she HATED her snow suit. She said it rides up on her too much!! haha!

Adler and Dane (next door) had fun shoveling snow at both houses. They stayed outside until after dark and she had to be called in for dinner!
The best part of the day was school cancellation in Belle Plaine for me!! We stayed home and kept warm. The temps were absolutely freezing and I was glad not to have to get out in it. The one downfall to my day was the realization that it is VERY difficult for me to keep up with Paisley. She is the busiest little one I have ever had and being 7 months pregnant makes for a challenge! I was READY for her "dada" to get home and give me some relief! When he walked in I was so happy to see him and I told him I decided it was DEFINITELY easier to teach high schoolers than chase her around all day!

Candy Cane Hunt

This year I wanted to take the girls to the Candy Cane Hunt that is put on by the Rec Center at Memorial Park. It had to have been the COLDEST day of the year so far! We were FREEZING even though the hunt only lasted about 15 minutes! Absolutely miserable cold! The girls had a good time regardless--and that is what it is all about!

Dad and Chelo went with Crosby to her section to watch her dash around the park snatching up candy canes looking for the yummy flavored ones! The big girls were too old to participate this year :( so they went along to help their little sisters.

Adler wanted to help Paisley find some candy canes! It didn't take our baby girl long to get the hang of it! But after a couple she was done hunting and ready to just hang out and eat one! She is a candy cane FANATIC! If you could see our tree you would notice that there are no candy canes from Paisley height down. She snatches them and takes off. She must be thinking "this is the day they may actually let me eat one!" Such a little thief!
Paisley must have been REALLY cold because she actually kept her hat on without a huge fuss!
She REFUSES to wear hats. She Hates to be contained or confined. She craves freedom. She will be our REBEL.

All i WaNt.......

Crosby has started her Christmas list already this year beginning with her two front teeth! She is just TOTALLY adorable and toothless right now! Last Wednesday she came home from school with a VERY loose tooth. She is kinda wimpy when it comes to her teeth (and hair) so it took some convincing for her to let me have ONE shot at it. I KNEW if it was coming out tonight-and it was ready-then I was going to have to give it one quick pull. I LOVE to pull out teeth (I have even pulled one of Chelo's on the sidelines DURING a soccer game!) so I am always ready and willing when the girls have a good and loose one!!

She left a note for the Tooth Fairy asking if she could keep her tooth! She is so funny! I kept joking with her asking if she was planning on making a baby tooth necklace out of them! She just saids "Mo-m!"

The tooth fairy came that night and left her tooth behind along with some $$. It just so happened that the week before I had made an appointment to have her other front tooth pulled that next day! ***She slipped in her tap shoes at dance practice when she was 3, hitting and discoloring both of her front teeth, deadening the roots in the process. When we went to our checkup in July the doctor had noticed an abscess beginning to form on the more damaged of the two teeth. We were planning on having the tooth extracted at our next appointment in February. Well, the other day she said her tooth was hurting and I took a look at it and saw that her BIG front tooth was growing in- way up in her gum. I decided that we needed to go ahead and get that tooth out and lucky her it was the day after losing the first one!

So for now she is "Front Toothless" and FABULOUS! (that big tooth is quickly descending--yet still pretty high up there)

Stroller Rides

I asked Crosby to keep and eye on Paisley for me while I fixed supper. This is what they were doing and BOY were they entertained!!! Cros pushed her round and round the house singing her little baby bumblebee song!! It was PRICELESS!!!

Then we let Paisley have a turn to push her big sister!!

This miss Adler got in on the fun!!

What silly girls we have!

Happy Sixth Birthday Crosby Reece!!

We can hardly believe that our little Crosby is SIX YEARS OLD today!! For some reason that just sounds old!! five and under...no biggie--but SIX??? Where does the time go?

She decided she wanted to have a kickball party (see the videos below) this year so we invited all of her friends over. We played, opened presents, and ate cake and pizza. Too much fun!

the kiddos

Grandpa and Grandma
Clothes from Grammy, Mario DS cover, bike, Justice gift card, coloring supplies, zuzu pet, and of course TONS of silly bands!!
Paisley checking out Crosby's new bike!!

We were sooo lucky that Georgia was in town from KU to come to the party and hang out!

Georgia and I made Cros a birthday banner

Our family tradition is to wake up the birthday girl early before school and work to open presents!! We think it is a great way to kick off a special day!! Her sisters got her some squirmles and we got her a shirt and Mario Bros. pjs!!

She put them on right away!!

Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots!

What a traumatic morning we had... the girls had to get some back to school shots and NEITHER one was pumped about it of course! Crosby got 3 and Adler ended up getting FIVE!! Crosby cried and hollered when they gave her the first two at the same time and then when they went to give her the last one I didn't think she was going to let them!! She is such a strong little thing they had to hold on to her pretty tight to keep her from jumping off of the table and running out of the room!! It was a little funny, I hate to admit.
Ads on the other hand was as cool as a cucumber!! I think she may have had one or two little tears eek out but she was sooo brave. They had given her 4 and when they asked if she was ready for the last one she nodded and said "yes" really softly. I was very proud of her for being so strong! No one likes to get shots! Ads wasn't too happy with me though because there were two optional shots (gardasil and meningitis) in addition to tetanus, hep, and chicken pox2. She told them she was good and couldn't BELIEVE that we would ever OPT for shots!! I told the girls the shots were to protect them and keep them healthy. I think Adler understood AFTERward but Cros....nope didn't care the reason!! It was an all around bad idea. She even decided that she no longer wanted to go to kindergarten if it meant getting shots!!!

Tanning

So I'm doing a little catching up now....since I can't blog during my lunch break anymore (due to our lack of bandwidth BP has blocked almost all internet sites) my blog has definitely taken a hit. Instead of eating in the lounge with my teacher friends I used to take that time for myself to eat, blog, and catch up with my blog friends. Now I am trying to do that in the evenings and we all know how hectic week nights are so unfortunately it just hasn't been happening. so I'm plaaing on posting a couple of golden oldies this morning to get me back on track!

Adalinn came over to spend the night with Crosby and they decided to get out the stickers and "tan" hoping to have "tatoos" when they were finished. First of all it was about 5 o'clock and secondly they were only out there long enough to get the stickers on before they got bored!! But it was certainly cute to watch!

This is the tatoo I have on my foot. My sorority letters from college so cros wanted one of those too.

This is Adalinn's leg...she was spelling "my best cousin" Those two are just too cute!!

They Passed!!

Chelo is moving on to Level 5 next week and Crosby goes to Level 4!! We found out yesterday that Crosby would be moving to the next level. Since she is so small and Level 4 is in the deep water the instructor wanted to make sure she and I were both okay with it! She also thought that Crosby should be in Swim Club next year!! We'll see! They are having a great time with their summer activities and staying REALLY busy! Adler just finished up tennis and disc golf this week and will be doing volleyball camp in a few weeks while Chel goes to basketball camp!!
We are staying SUPER busy doing exactly what we love this summer!! Our girls like to stay busy---I wonder where they get that?!?!?!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

Crosby had her Easter Party at school today and she decided she wanted to go as a BUNNY so she had me put her hair in piggy tails for bunny ears and we drew whiskers on her cheeks, and Grammy "pinked" her nose with lipstick.  She was so excited to go to school as a bunny for her party (I thought it was sooo CUTE cause it wasn't a dress up party, she wanted to do it 'just because'!),  She LOVESLOVES her school and is really going to miss it next year but I KNOW she will LOVE kindergarten just as much!  Her teachers told Grammy the other day that they didn't know what they were going to do next year without Crosby there since she has been going to Montessouri for THREE years now!!!

The Tooth is GONE!!

I wanted Crosby to lose her tooth over Spring Break so I have been telling her to work on it all week.  It was pretty painful for her but it was also REALLY loose so I new it was time, but I didn't want to hurt her and shy her away from losing those baby teeth.  She actually has 3 loose teeth right now so I intended to ease into this process somewhat.  The last couple of days I have noticed that her big tooth is coming in behind this loose baby so I new we were ready!  I didn't even intend to pull it out when I did.  I was only going to loosen it up for later that night or even the next day when with one big pull it was in my hand.  My little one has now become an OFFICIAL big girl with her first lost tooth!  Way to go Cros!!

The Tooth is LOOSE!!!

Crosby has several loose teeth right now but one of her bottom ones is barely hanging on.  We worked on getting it really loosened up and ready to pull last night but didn't go through with it because it is pretty sore.  She was being VERY brave (cause she wanted to go to school "toothless" today) but I felt like I was hurting her so we stopped for the night.  I have P/T conferences tonight and tomorrow (won't get home til almost 9pm) so we'll see...she was going to the dentist today and I told her not to let anyone pull her tooth!  I have something about pulling my kids teeth...ESPECIALLY their first one!!  As they get older I feel like "Firsts" get farther between and this is just one I LOVE for some reason!!!   (I pulled out one of Chelo's during a soccer game last year--FUN!!!)

Of course I will be posting "after" pics so stay tuned for the update!!

Crosby's First Ever Indoor Soccer Game!

Paisley and I got to the game about 3-4 minutes in and she was playing goalie.  She waved sooo big when she saw us in the stands--too cute!  I LOVE MY little goalie!
It was hard to get good pics of the game with the baby in one hand (next time I will remember the Baby Bjorn!!).
But I did manage to get this one of her breaking away to score the SECOND of her three goals of the game!

They won with a final score of 8-1 with Crosby scoring a Hatrick in her VERY first indoor game of her little life.  We are already so amazed with the little athlete she is proving herself to be.  We can't wait to watch and participate in sports with her as she grows!!!

Here we are after the game with Crosby's biggest fan!!  Her baby sister...we also dream of how Paisley will grow up watching Crosby play sports and hopefully will work hard to be good like her big sissy!
It was our turn to bring snacks and drinks so we got the idea Friday night to put together little Valentine treat bags for each of the kiddos on her team.  I let Crosby pick out what to put in them and she chose Capri Suns, brownies, suckers, and sports Valentine cards with tattoos!  She is soo patient for her age, she filled out all of the cards and helped me put the bags together with no problem!

I'm Feelin' the LOVE!!

As soon as I walked in the door from school my sweet little Crosby was there to greet me with Valentine's Day gifts that she and grammy had made. Isn't this package adorable?!? Crosby decorated the wrapping paper herself and it was topped with one of gram's signature tulle bows that I can't get enough of. It was filled with those YUMMY chocolates with the creamy center and 2 handmade gifts. One from Gram...a beautiful fabric cone with a handle that she had handmade in a Valentine's Day pattern. LOVE IT! Also, my little Buzzy, had cut and sewn a stuffed VDay {heart} for me. i am so proud of my crafty family!! Glad to see it isn't just me!! 3 generations of crafters! Crosby had also colored and written about 7-8 pictures and v-day notes for me. I told her it looked like it took forever (cause I know how much time and care she puts in to each picture) and she said "Mommy, I even skipped lunch to make all of this for you." AWWWWWW!! Something tells me her grammy fed her ;)
***Thanks mom and Cros for making my day!! I love you both soo very muches!!!

Kung Fu Ninja

For the past week or so our little Buzzy has been playing Card-jitsu on
Club Penguin and talking about earning all of the different colored belts. Well it was today that I finally watched her playing the game. I had envisioned penguins karate chopping each other but much to my SURPRISE!!! it is similar to the card game WAR. No skill involved...simply flip a card and the best card wins. Well you earn points for just playing and more if you win. THEN when you work your way through all of the colored belts (and there are like TEN!!) you have to battle and beat the Sinsea to get your black belt. I promised her that when she did that we could make a ninja mask!! She wore it ALL weekend long while practicing her ninja moves!!

More "As Seen on TV" Treasure!!

They're making a KILLING...I'm telling you... A KILLING selling absolute junk-o-la to people like us! We couldn't seem to get enough of the commercialized-gimmicky stuff this Christmas!!! When I saw this one at Walgreen's I just couldn't pass it up!! A Dog Snuggie!!! NO STINKIN WAY!! I was soooo pumped and immediately snagged it-originally for Bruiser, but "DUH, dc!" Doggie Snuggies come in different sizes (unlike the human one-size-fits only a giant version... contemplate that one!!). So it became Mosely's and it fits her like a fleece glove!!
And then there was Miss Chelo, who didn't give me ANY sort of a Christmas list til about a week before the big day when I was already finished shopping!!! So, with little to go on from her I had to get creative!! Every time she saw the commercial for Big Top Cupcake she would say "Mom, I want that!" So it was at Walgreen's in their As Seen on TV section where I found myself again!! (Also snagging 3 pink Kids Snuggies that my mom wanted to give to the girls!). Chel was so pumped when she opened it Christmas morning...YES!!! It is coming up with those gifts, especially the smaller ones, that make the recipient really happy that make gift-giving fun for me!!! So today we tackled the "Tie Dye" cupcake from the recipe book that was included. Who knew there were soo many ways to make GIANT cupcakes??? We divided white batter and mixed in some bright colors! It turned out to be really pretty and colorful!! I think the girls had the best time sitting and eating the leftover batter than anything!!! (which their Dad doesn't think is a good idea because of the raw egg, but I let them do it cause HEY, i'm still here after many years of batter eating!! In middle school Teresa's mom would always have cake mix so we would make one for a snack and eat it raw!! Gross or Good??? HMMM??? IDK! Both!)

Chelo pretending to take a bite of our Masterpiece!!

Crosby getting dangerously close to LICKING our cupcake!!
I think the week after Christmas is the best. No school, too cold to go outside, but TONS of fun new toys, games, and crafts to keep everyone having fun all week!! A mother's dream!! Bring on the snow cause we're not going ANYWHERE!!!!
