Paisley's First Steps!!!! and More.....

So this busy little thing is up to A LOT these days!! Do you love her "jumping" on the trampoline?!?! Every once in a while she will actually get a little air under her feet!!

as you can see she has crawling and standing down pat...she stared taking her first unassisted steps at the first of August.

Now she is up to eight!! It is pretty exciting to watch! Please forgive me for letting my baby cry in this last video. I really wanted to get her to walk on camera so after the 4 + above attempts I had to bribe her with my cell phone and it made her mad because I kept stepping away from her! Rest assured that she is happy and healthy now!! I predict that she will be full on walking in a week. She is consistently taking the 8 or so steps several times a day and it seems like each day she gets a little more steady and adds another step!!

A&W Anyone???

We had open house tonight at BPHS so L.fox and I rolled to Wellington for some dinner after school. We decided to stop at A&W. In all the times we have eaten in Wellington we had never gone there for some reason. And BOY were we glad we did! We were going to do the drive up but changed our minds and went inside to eat. We walked in and went up to the counter and the waitress told us that if we wanted to we could grab a booth and call in our order!! WHAT?!?!?
OKAY!

Look what we saw when we got to the booth.....

The phone had a menu right on it and when you picked up the receiver the waitress was on the phone and you placed your order! And when you needed something you just called!! What a brilliant idea! More restraunts should have the phone feature!

The floats were DELISH!! and HUGE...man I am craving one right now just looking at the picture!! The burgers were smallish and just okay we thought but we shall DEFINITELY be returning for the Rootbeer floats!!

L.fox and I were laughing and having blast on our latest adventure. We were taking pictures like mad women and I am sure people were looking at us like we were TOTAL tourists! It was fun and we will have more laughs remembering and scrapbooking the event together!!!
Have any of you been to A&W?? Are there any others around beside the Wellington restaurant?

Stroller Rides

I asked Crosby to keep and eye on Paisley for me while I fixed supper. This is what they were doing and BOY were they entertained!!! Cros pushed her round and round the house singing her little baby bumblebee song!! It was PRICELESS!!!

Then we let Paisley have a turn to push her big sister!!

This miss Adler got in on the fun!!

What silly girls we have!

Happy Sixth Birthday Crosby Reece!!

We can hardly believe that our little Crosby is SIX YEARS OLD today!! For some reason that just sounds old!! five and under...no biggie--but SIX??? Where does the time go?

She decided she wanted to have a kickball party (see the videos below) this year so we invited all of her friends over. We played, opened presents, and ate cake and pizza. Too much fun!

the kiddos

Grandpa and Grandma
Clothes from Grammy, Mario DS cover, bike, Justice gift card, coloring supplies, zuzu pet, and of course TONS of silly bands!!
Paisley checking out Crosby's new bike!!

We were sooo lucky that Georgia was in town from KU to come to the party and hang out!

Georgia and I made Cros a birthday banner

Our family tradition is to wake up the birthday girl early before school and work to open presents!! We think it is a great way to kick off a special day!! Her sisters got her some squirmles and we got her a shirt and Mario Bros. pjs!!

She put them on right away!!

Hi Little Puppy!

If I take my eyes off of this little one for even a minute she is getting herself into some kind of trouble!! We have decided that it is like she KNOWS what she is not to be doing and heads straight for it!! I hope this doesn't translate on to her high school years!! AGH! So I was in the kitchen and I could hear her playing with Bruiser's kennel. FAIRLY harmless (compared to the stairs or the Wii) and she was pretty close by so I kept working and listening. I peaked to check on her and she had climbed into the kennel. She hadn't ever done this before so we thought it was pretty cute (I grabbed the camera of course!) until she started opening and closing the door. Just what I need...a baby in a kennel!! ....hmmm...or do i???? HA! I might actually get something accomplished!! ;)

Back to the Grind!!

Well blog readers...this is my view today.... Yep, I'm back at it! Since school in ole BP starts as usual (August 19th) teachers reported back today for meetings and classroom organization. It wasn't tooo hard to leave that sweet baby this morning but we'll see how I am doing in a week or two. Last night I didn't get much good sleep...anticipating my first day back after another wonderful summer! To top it off, at about 3:30 I hear Paisley's pig that she loves saying it's "This little piggy..." nursery rhyme. I thought, "oh no, is she awake??" But as I looked at her in the monitor I realized she had rolled over and was sleeping on top of it!! I was worried that it would wake her and when it went off a SECOND time I decided I was going to need to have an intervention. She is such a light sleeper. When I went in her room she sat up and smiled at me with big sleepy eyes. She held up her little hands to me and it doesn't matter what time it is I could NEVER resist that!! So I picked her up and just held her for a few quiet minutes. She had her legs wrapped tightly with her head on my chest so I just hugged her and kissed her. I finally laid her back down with her "soffie" (her soft blanket) she found her thumb and went right to sleep. She is such a good baby when it comes to her crib time!

I have missed blogging very much and am looking forward very soon to getting all caught up on this summer's activities!!

Shots! Shots! Shots! Shots!

What a traumatic morning we had... the girls had to get some back to school shots and NEITHER one was pumped about it of course! Crosby got 3 and Adler ended up getting FIVE!! Crosby cried and hollered when they gave her the first two at the same time and then when they went to give her the last one I didn't think she was going to let them!! She is such a strong little thing they had to hold on to her pretty tight to keep her from jumping off of the table and running out of the room!! It was a little funny, I hate to admit.
Ads on the other hand was as cool as a cucumber!! I think she may have had one or two little tears eek out but she was sooo brave. They had given her 4 and when they asked if she was ready for the last one she nodded and said "yes" really softly. I was very proud of her for being so strong! No one likes to get shots! Ads wasn't too happy with me though because there were two optional shots (gardasil and meningitis) in addition to tetanus, hep, and chicken pox2. She told them she was good and couldn't BELIEVE that we would ever OPT for shots!! I told the girls the shots were to protect them and keep them healthy. I think Adler understood AFTERward but Cros....nope didn't care the reason!! It was an all around bad idea. She even decided that she no longer wanted to go to kindergarten if it meant getting shots!!!

We had Paisley baptized today at our church in Ark City. She wore the same christening gown I wore when I was a baby! She is so lucky to have Anna and Randy for her Godparents. They are such wonderful people and will always be very active in her life. After church we all went to the steak house in Ark City for lunch!! Our favorite place to go with Grandma Eaton when the big girls were little and Crosby was a baby. It was a great day and we are so blessed to have so many special people in our lives.

Tanning

So I'm doing a little catching up now....since I can't blog during my lunch break anymore (due to our lack of bandwidth BP has blocked almost all internet sites) my blog has definitely taken a hit. Instead of eating in the lounge with my teacher friends I used to take that time for myself to eat, blog, and catch up with my blog friends. Now I am trying to do that in the evenings and we all know how hectic week nights are so unfortunately it just hasn't been happening. so I'm plaaing on posting a couple of golden oldies this morning to get me back on track!

Adalinn came over to spend the night with Crosby and they decided to get out the stickers and "tan" hoping to have "tatoos" when they were finished. First of all it was about 5 o'clock and secondly they were only out there long enough to get the stickers on before they got bored!! But it was certainly cute to watch!

This is the tatoo I have on my foot. My sorority letters from college so cros wanted one of those too.

This is Adalinn's leg...she was spelling "my best cousin" Those two are just too cute!!

Silly Band Mania!!!

Have you seen these?!?!? Silly Bands are rubber bracelets shaped like everthing under the sun. My personal fave is the fruit!! And to think...back in my day we only had CIRCLE shaped plastic bracelets!! There is a WHOLE section in WalMart dedicated to this new craze. In San Antonio the cousins traded silly bands like crazy...and we even found rings and necklaces at the mall!! What cool kids we have! Even the babies were rockin the silly bands!

San Antonio Summer Vacation

We take the girls on a family vacation each summer. The benefit of our family living in other states is the chance to take a week to travel, visit, and check out some great places every year! This summer we went to San Antonio, Texas to visit my dear, sweet cousin Jodi and her family. Crosby was almost two the last time we were down there so it had been about 4 years! Way too long! I missed Jodi terribly and the kids were excited to see their cousins (especially since we had two new additions to our growing group! Paisley- 9 months and Jude 14 months)
This visit we went to the Famous San Antonio River Walk. Such a cool place!

This is a picture in front of Santo Antonio the Patron Saint of children. PERFECT!!! It is believed that if a child touches this statue they will by blessed by St. Anthony.

The view of the mall from the river boat ride! COOL!

We decided to ride the river boats this visit for the first time. It was really neat to hear all of the rich history along the San Antonio River. It was pretty hot on the boat and with 7 kids (including 2 babies) they got a little restless but luckily the ride was only about 30 minutes so they all survived!

Of course we made a day trip to Sea World. We just love that place! This was a second time to go so we did a lot of different things that we hadn't gotten to do the last time we had gone. Sea World has everything, rides, shows, live animals, a water park...so much to see and do. If you haven't gone I would soooo recommend it!
We had to get a picture taken with the Sea World Slug BUG!

The big girls and I in line to ride the Great White (a roller coaster where your feet hang free) while dad took Crosby on the log ride. (Paisley stayed home with her Auntie Jojo for the day!)

I took a TON of video at the shows (mostly for the girls to have for memories). eventually I will have them burned to DVD!!! But for right now this works great!!
Well the video isn't uploading right so I guess I will be adding those later!

9 Months Already!!!

I just can't believe it. It almost isn't fair how fast they grow! Our little baby is now 9 months old the length of my pregnancy that I thought seemed to last forever!! And now the last nine months have gone by in a heart beat!! I have even started birthday shopping for her! I ordered a chenille pink blankey with pailey fabric on the other side that I am going to have her name embroidered on! (Either her whole name or a big letter P--which do you think??) I hope it will be THE Blanket that she loves on forever. She has several "softies" that she loves (see pics above for her lite pink one). She really isn't a blanket snob...all she cares about that it is SOFT!! She already loves to lay in bed sucking her thumb with her blankie pressed to her cheek. It literally soothes her immediately. Anyway I wanted to do something REALLY special and when I was in my friend Melissa's mom's new store, Initially Yours, I saw the CUTEST paisley burp cloth and I asked them to make me a full size blanket! I am sooo excited. I have one other idea for her but more on that later!

So at 9 months Paisley is.....

  • crawling like a mad woman!! She is sooo loud when she crawls, slapping her hands on the ground!!

  • babbling "mama" and "dada" and will look at the right person if we say "where is mama?" "where is dada?"

  • standing unasisted for several seconds at a time.

  • getting herself to standing from a bear crawl

  • just got a top tooth. so now she has a lower right and an upper left. Heath says its the jack-o-lantern look!!

  • walking while pushing a rolling object like her baby stroller. Did you see the video on this post?

  • trying and liking a lot of new table foods

  • still sleeping about 15 hours a day

  • getting in to EVERYTHING!!!
