Our Eventful Saturday SO Far...

Mah is leaving tomorrow to go home to Brazil so the girls spent some time with her this morning. Then....

We took the girls plus Adalinn to the movies to see UP! We thought it was SUPER cute--even though we thought it was 3D so that was a little bummer--guess that is not happenin at our theater. It cost us $60 to take for the movies and snacks! HOLY COW!! I think we well let Grammy take them to the next one :)
Oh, and during the movie I heard this little snore and I looked over at Heath and said "Are you sleeping?????" "just for a second" he said... at this was the 2pm matinee... have I mentioned his nickname Narcolepsy Man???? He could fall asleep anytime anywhere!!
And of course as luck and good timing would have it ;) as we were getting out of the car at home---here came the ice cream truck! I must be a push over mom cause I just can't say no to the ice cream truck! Maybe it was because Landon and I grew up living outside of town and the ice cream man never came by our house {sniff :)} So I went to get my camera and wallet and saw the sweetest scene of the girls standing patiently on the corner waving to the ice cream guy!

A summer Saturday doesn't get much better than this!! I think we will cookout now while the girls swim....ah how can you NOT JUST LOVE SUMMER???!!!!???

Scrapping Booking and a HOLY COW of a night!!!

We woke up Wed. morning (nice and early :) and the weather was on the cooler side. Since swimming was OUT --even though my girls will swim at ANY temperature!!!--- and we had nary a plan I got the BRILLIANT idea to pack up the girlie girls and head for a mommy daughter day at the Attic. LUCKILY my daughters all share my LOVE for the hobby so what a great way to spend the day with them! They were so great and we --okay they cropped for 4 hours. The big girls were really careful about how much they spent, I was so proud of them...it is so neat to see them appreciate the value of $$ and not going crazy. But not the CROS, she is FAR from there. She would've spent $10 a page if I would let her!!! They each got about 8 pages done and we all had a great time!!! Such a great idea for a rainy day!!

and in other news...the ripits won the ripits won the ripits won! Not a good night to miss grandma and grandpa {wink} as I am sure you have heard!!!

Let me try to tell ya really quick why this was SUCH a great game... First our head coach Brian--who is AWESOME btw--- was out of town so daddy heath, normally the ass. coach ;) stepped in... as if these games aren't nerve racking enough with my girls playing but this time my husband had the game on his shoulders...and even the nicest of parents can be SUPA critical of the poor coaches (WHO VOLUNTEER!) and EVERYONE on the sidelines--myself included--- gets so wrapped up in the games that we "coach" our children from the sidelines, as if we are all experienced fast pitch coaches ourselves. It is really funny when I think about it!! Anyway back to the game. We started out the first few innings getting beat 9-1 OUCH and I thought we were gonners (cause the MAX each team can score is 6 runs per inning). Anyway, the other team put in a different pitcher who pitched pretty SLOW. Heath had the girls scoot way up in the batter's box (a couple of the parents kept telling their kids to scoot back- then heath would tell them to move up so they were dancin out there!!) sooo... even though he is normally the ass. coach :) he has coached high school girls fast pitch and KNOWS what he is doing (i really WANT to tell some of the parents!) anyway the girls started smacking the ball (including Chel and Adler) and next thing we knew the score was like 9-7 and we were back in it!! They ended up scoring a few more and we HAD to score ALL 6 again to TIE!! The girls made some great plays--Adler is KILLING it out there as catcher and Chel-- She nearly caught a line drive and on another play did some quick thinking and ran over to cover 1st on a short hit to the first baseman (i need to cut her some slack on saying she picks daises out there!!). Anyway both of our girl got hits again (they bat back to back and it is neat to watch them hit each other around the bases but it is SOOOOO stressful when they are actually batting--I just want them to SMACK the ball every time like I know they can!!! So we tied it up and played and extra inning and pretty much dominated. They had put back in their fast pitcher but she wasn't even able to hang cause after all of the base hits the girl's confidence was THROUGH THE ROOF!!! The final score was 14-13 and we saw the happiest Ripit froggy dance of the season!! HECK I almost joined them!!!! The game was a blast for the parents and kids and talking after---Heath and I are sooo glad we joined the Derby league. Yeah it is a drive but the girls are playing with their own team and having SUCCESS. Well that was a crazy long post and Crosby is being REALLY quiet upstairs so i better run check on her.... Bruiser is probably wearing make-up!!!

One Sick Baby Girl and 2 Fake Mustaches!

For the last couple of days we have had a pretty sick little girl. Crosby has been up practically all night both Sunday and Monday nights coughing and having trouble breathing because her chest was just filled with drainage from her little allergies. Poor baby and Poor Parents!! We have been sooo tired b/c we were up all night trying EVERYTHING! I tried to take on the majority of the care but sometimes I was just too tired and at one point hubby gave her a shower (at like 3 or 4am) hoping the warm steam would help our girl out. She literally seemed like she was struggling to breathe and nothing is scarier than that!!! So we got her in first thing this morning to see the doctor. She was a little nervous about going but did just great. It turns out she has a left ear infection and bronchitis. We headed straight to the pharmacy to get her prescriptions filled and when I finished checking out this is what I found....
They had bought fake mustaches in one of those little machines! It was HILARIOUS!! Crosby's looked sooo real! It was fuzzy and looked like a caterpillar on her face. I think Adler's was upside down most of the time but funny anyway! Everyone at the store was cracking up at my two little girls with fake mustaches!

Friday is GIRLS DAY OUT!!

Lindsay aka Foxy Booksy, Sheryl aka SHER-REAL, and I went for the first of many this summer--- FRIDAY SCRAPBOOK DAY! We headed to our favorite spot THE ATTIC for a fun day of cropping. I finished an album I made for my mom's birthday HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! (on Friday the 22nd) of her Sweet Adeline's show last year. I didn't get a picture of it (but I am sure if you ask she would proudly show it off!). These are a couple of fun layouts I did using the new Heidi Swapp Invisibles line. I thought both layouts turned out SUPA cute and I plan on doing several other layouts using that paper. Crosby and I worked on clearing out her old room today (Adler took Mah's old room and Crosby moved in with Chelo) to turn it into my new scrapbooking room until the baby arrives. I can't wait to get in there and start working but for now I know there are always Fridays at the Attic!!!

Adalinn's First Time in Our Pool

Addy didn't know how much she was going to like it but once they got in she was swimming away. Those two have such a bond---they are so lucky to have the chance to grow up together. Some of my best memories were playing on my grandparent's farm with Kami, Nathan, and Grant when we were kids. We were fortunate to have each other growing up. And on the other side of the family... we didn't get to meet Jared, Joel, and Jodi until we were in our late teens--early twenties-- but we have had the BEST TIMES making up for those lost years... right cousins???? I truly think of them more as brothers and sisters than cousins and even though too many miles separate us all (we represent Kansas, Arizona, Texas, Minnesota, California, and Florida---crazy right???) we do a good job of keeping in touch. I miss and love you all very much!! And my close relationship to them makes it that much more important that my girls spend as much time with their cousins in these precious young years!!

A Day at the Races

This past Saturday we spent the afternoon and evening watching our nephew Eyan (Tj's son)racing his go-cart at the Winfield Fairgrounds. It was neat and I had a TON of questions since I had never been to one of these races before. The most fun was just hanging out with our Curtis family. The little girls always have fun playing together and I have a blast just talking to my SIL Kelli and my MIL Vicki.

Cousins- Adalinn, Crosby, and Kaitlinn
Eyan racing his orange and white #22 Champ Cart

My Photogenic SIL--she will take 100 pictures of us but this is what we get to take of her :)
love ya sis!!

the girls were so adorable hanging on the fence watching E.

I made a couple of jokes about Heath bringing his golf cart down to the next race and that must have made him realize he wasn't golfing so he ran home and got his clubs. Well, after he hit a few everyone wanted in on the action!!

Vicki was the queen of the worm burner!!!

Kel has a great swing, although she thinks she is Tiger and swings sooo hard (she whiffed a few times!! ;)

CRAP! These are crooked (I took them with my camera and I don't know how to turn them) but you get the idea :)
GOOD TIMES!!

Scuba Man!!!

Happy Memorial Day!!!
Heath and Crosby were swimming around today and she kept calling him "Scuba Man." This is what I saw when I came out to see what all of the fun was about! It was soo cute to watch those two playing in the pool together! YEA SUMMER!!

School's Out For SUMMER!!!!!

Sing it with me!!!! Okay maybe just the teachers and kids are as excited about this as I am!! WOOOHOOOO!! I am so ready to sleep in, wear comfy clothes, have a clean house, and spend time with my girls!

Another FROG DANCE!!!
Last night we traveled back to Derby for the girl's second league fast pitch game and they won again!! Those games are really exciting--- especially when your daughter is up to bat or making a play!!! Our girls struggled with their hitting last night. They both struck out both times up to bat... but they are SWINGING and being aggressive. It will only be a matter of a few games before they are making contact consistently. Chelo played outfield the whole game but didn't see any action. This early in the season there aren't too many girls that can get the ball out of the infield. Adler played 2nd base 2 innings and caught the other 2. She works sooo hard behind the plate and never complains... she makes me sooo proud out there. Her work ethic is amazing when she is catching. She hustles after EVERY ball even if there aren't runners on the bases. It is neat to watch. Last night she even made a GREAT play!!! She threw a girl out trying to steal 3rd!! I was jumping up and down!! She even had to throw around the batter which looked tough to do.
And her is a picture of L. Fox and I giving a BIG PEACE OUT to the school year!!!! We are PUMPED to be starting our summers in just a few hours starting with A WHOLE DAY OF SCRAPINGBOOKING tomorrow-- SCRAPFUNATTIC here we come!!!
Oh and I almost forgot... I went to the OB yesterday. Baby Pumpkin is doing GREAT!!! The little heartbeat was 150 so I consulted the ancient Chinese profits (online of course :)) and they say BOY!!! We will sure see! Daddy Heath is DYING for a son!!! My sonogram is June 17th (we decided to wait til my 20th week---I didn't want to risk not being able to find out the day as planned...I just didn't want to hear the girls reaction to the sono tech if it was too early or they were 70% sure. SCREW THAT... my BIL and SIL were told they that the tech was 70% sure it was a boy and my beautiful NIECE Braylinn was born in December!!!! I want to be 100% sure!!! As Elo would say... I want to see if there are any franks and beans!!!!! And the best news of all... I gained ZERO pounds last month!! WOOHOO!!! It makes the 16 I have gained in the first 3 months a little easier to take!!!

Graduation Presents

So in an effort to try to control some of the stress in my life I decided that I wasn't going to go insane trying to get 11 graduation presents done (with homemade cards of course!) in time for Sunday. I got everything finished up today and am SUPA relieved that they are finished. The first picture is of the cards. I spent most of my free time yesterday on them. I used Heidi Swapp masks, with ink, and stickles and they turned out sooo stinkin cute if I do say so! The 2nd picture is of some pillows my dear mother put together for me. We made these out of extra FLC tshirts and I am giving them to all of my officers. Just a note to add to this... I had EVERY intention of making these myself and when I actually sat down to the sewing machine I kept balling up the bobbin thread somehow. So I asked my mom to help---She is SUCH a LIFESAVER!!! I guess I need to take sewing lessons this summer :) Not that I EVER thought I could sew!! I understand the concepts I just am not too familiar with the machine... and anyway I think I will stick to sewing on paper!! Isn't that what sewing machines are for??? Just kidding MOM!!! Stop cringing! We are wrapping up school this week! YEA! I am giving finals today and tomorrow and then we have teacher workday til 2pm on Thursday!! My plan is to meet Lindsay and Cheryl at the Attic on Friday for some cropping time but Heath isn't quite on board with that yet. He said something about playing golf or working.... I guess I will put in a call to the Lifesaver!! What would we do without our mothers??? Well gotta run Georgia and Pez are here bringing me Taco Tico!! What a life!!!

Another Wonderfully Busy Weekend Wrap UP!!

We started out the weekend with a family cookout and birthday party for Miss Adler. It stormed some but we stayed nice and dry---adults on the screen porch and kiddos inside!!! She also had Bri, Taylor, and Natalie spend the night so that was fun for her. After the cookout she opened her presents and the girls did make overs before going to bed. Saturday morning the girls got up bright and early (about 7:30am). I am going to have to start wearing ear plugs! I never really get to sleep-in anymore. Since the big girls can help Crosby get breakfast I don't have to get up so early with them but it isn't that nice late sleep I would like. Crosby had her last soccer game at 9am so we loaded up and went to that.
GO GOALIE!!
She works so hard out there--it is so fun to watch her!
The big girls had their last game at 10:30am. Adler scored her first goal on the GIGANTIC outdoor field. She is having a great year athletically. Her hard work is paying off!! Our girl Chelo has had several goals on the season--she is a fantastic forward. I love watching the two of them working so hard together out on the field! After the games I ran to the Rec Center for Summer activity sign ups. I put the girls in swimming lessons only this summer. Since the big girls are so busy with softball I figured that would be plenty. Crosby is VERY excited about swimming lessons!! I actually like them too, I either go for a run around island park or relax and read a magazine during that 30 minutes, so it works out perfectly! After lunch I got dressed and traveled to Belle Plaine for our high school graduation. This time of year is always surreal for me. It hasn't really sank in that school is almost out for the summer!!! This time next week I will be at home with my girlies for 3 months!! YEA!
After the ceremony I went to Georgia's graduation party. They had BBQ catered and cake! A pregnant ladies heaven!! After that I headed home exhausted!!
When I got home Hubby was planting vegetables (tomatoes, onions, cilantro, squash, bell peppers, and watermelon) in our garden. He has done all of the planting this year. Even though I LOVE planting flowers in the Spring I just haven't had the energy. That is a Supa-bummer about being pregnant.... for me even the things I normally enjoy/look forward to just seem like a lot of work!! When I got home and saw him working away I got in the mood too and starting cleaning and doing some things on the porches.
Sunday the girls got up early again, of course, but I managed to stay in bed til 9:00! SWEET! I think I finally got up because Adler and Crosby were YELLING at each other. I think Crosby's leg was touching Adler.... remember those days Brother??? :) Our poor mother!! Those two drive me crazy with their constant bickering- this summer I am going to get them straightened out!! :)) Super Nanny to the rescue! As soon as Heath got home from work we headed to AC. My mom had some plants for us so we went out to see her for a little bit then it was off to the park for our niece Katie's 2nd Birthday party! The weather was beautiful and Crosby had a great time playing in the park with her cousins...

Happy 2nd Birthday Kaitlinn!!!!!

After the party we went home (with a quick pit stop at Taco Tico in Ark City!!) and Heath set up the pool. The girls got in and slid around for a little while. It didn't take Crosby long before she was FREEZING though!

It will take a couple of days to fill it (it is 4,500 gallons), but I am sure that it won't take long for the girls to be braving the cold and diving right in!!!

Ripits Softball Council Grove Tournament

Adler's Big Day

Wow she is growing up before my eyes!!! We had a scavenger hunt for her to find her presents! She is saving up for an ipod nano so we hid WalMart gift cards and $10 bills all over the house!! It was fun running around with her as she searched for her presents.

I tried about 5 times to get a good picture of Adler and Davin and in the end I told them to make whatever face they wanted too and this is what I got!!!
She chose El Maguey as her birthday dinner and birthday dinner wouldn't be complete without a song by Davin and his Marachi band!!!
She looked so cute in the birthday sombrero!!!

Softball, Softball, and MORE Softball!!!

I barely have enough energy to blog today after the busy weekend we had. The big girls had their first Fast Pitch softball tournament this weekend in Council Grove. I thought they did a GREAT job! We were sooo proud of the way our girls played and are looking forward to a great season. GO RIPITS!!!
Adler Catching--she worked so hard! Chelo getting ready to smack the ball!!!
We left the house that day at 6am and got home about 9pm. I was so tired and not feeling so well. I think I over did it a little cause Sunday I was out of it. We did manage to get up and go to church and then lunch with my mom. After that we came home and relaxed. It was a nice Mother's Day!! Mom got me two hanging baskets and from Heath and the girls a hanging flower basket and my video camera. They are sooo SWEET!!! We cooked steaks for dinner and then I crashed!! Happy Mother's Day to all of my momma friends out there!!!

Sexy Heath Video

Okay I KNOW I am going crazy with this thing but this is my BLOG and I want to remember EVERYTHING!!!! Check out this short clip of Heath being Sr. Sexy!!!

FLC Fiesta

We had our FLC Fiesta yesterday. It was hectic and stressful but I think the kids had a good time. We did a pinata, cascarones, and a cake walk all in 25 minutes!!!! Here is a clip of the cascarones (egg shells filled with glitter and confetti). For some reason I didn't think I would get hit but I got it about 4 times!! I still have glitter in my hair today after 3 baths!!!

2nd Video

In this one you can really hear Crosby's little sweet voice. Also, watch carefully at the end. OUCH!!!! I am going to have some FUN with this thing!!

My First Video!!!!

I am not planning on winning any awards for my mad film skills but I thought this one was cute because of Crosby's commentary in the background so turn up your volume!!!

Early Mother's Day Present

Soooo check out my mother's day present!!! It is a digital camcorder that is as small and SLIMMER than my camera (shhhh don't tell my camera I said that... she's very sensitive!!! :))
Mine is BLUE which is even better. I wanted to get one of these before the baby came so we could record all of our baby happenings to post on here for you guys. I found the one I wanted at a great price so we decided to go ahead and get it!! It is soo CUTE and I can carry it in my purse. We already have a digital camcorder but I figured I can take this anywhere and not worry about messing with tapes. I PROMISE to get some video posted as soon as I figure it all out. I am sure it is pretty easy I just haven't had a chance to mess with downloading video yet. I took some footage of Adler and Chelo's soccer game this weekend and the FLC fiesta yesterday. The big girls are playing softball (first tournament of the season) this weekend in Council Grove so I am sure I will have some video of that to post next week!!!
