Nice Legs!

Auntie Teresa was in Kansas City for Davin's soccer tournament and she brought the girls back these FUN new socks!!  She got them at Soccer Master in Kansas City, aren't they the CUTEST?!?!  Chelo got monkeys, Cros the polka dots and Adler the peace signs-PERFECT!  Thanks Tree for thinking of them and making sure they had the cutest legs on the soccer field!

Adler's Orchestra Concert

Our sweet, funny girl Adler and her bff Izzy had their 5th Grade orchestra concert at the high school last night.  At the WIS (Winfield Intermediate School) they really encourage students to play in either the band or orchestra...so most do, cause at this age I think it sounds pretty exciting, new, and grown up to them.  We left it up to her and she easily decided to play the violin.  I think I have always encouraged her to play a string instrument so I don't think it was too difficult a decision (especially with her exposure to Blugrass!!!).  She played the violin all first semester.  She starting having some doubts about whether it was really for her.  So she talked to her teacher and they decided that if she would come in for extra practice 2-3 days a week she could try the BASS!!!  She did and she {lovesloves} it!!  She brought it home over spring break to practice and it is just MASSIVE!

So last night we all went to her concert to see her hard work pay off!  The gym was packed with families and I could tell Adler was so happy to be a part of it all.

Adler and Izzy before the concert.

Crosby chillin' in the gym.  She told me she was ready to go home 5 minutes before the concert even started!  Awesome considering I had all four girls with just me (Heath was working and had to meet us up there a little late).

Sissies!!

Thank GOODNESS Mimi (and Poppy) was there.  I am sure I was a sight to see trying to keep a baby quiet with a bottle while trying to take pictures and video.  LUCKILY Mimi was with me to lend a hand!

Adler is right in the middle of this picture leaning against her bass (i need to add an arrow or circle or something around her-I worked on it in Microsoft Paint for a little while but my picture was so big i gave up!!  Help...Laura???)

In this one she is the third bass on the right, playing and having a ball!
Great Job Ads, we are proud of you!!!  And for your viewing pleasure, a tiny little video I took with my camera.  Sorry, it is pretty blurrrry...I am telling you I was holding Paisley in one arm trying to do this with my little camera so it's not too good!  :)
She is in the very back middle!!!

Spring Break Baby!

We have had a overall GREAT time this week.  Yes, it has been FULL of trials and tribulations but there have been highlights for sure.  I have been blessed in my time teaching at Belle Plaine to meet some WONDERFUL people that I still keep in touch with.  I LOVE these awesome girls and am sooo lucky to get to see them whenever they have the time to visit me.  It all started with a visit from Paige aka "Pagina" who came to hang out with me at school one day.  We had so much fun catching up and talking about the "old days" when she was at BPHS.  She even effortlessly relived her role as my teacher's aide!!

Next came Elizabeth aka Ema.  She is an amazing chica that happened to make her way from KU to Winfield for dinner and a margarita (i can't believe she is 21 already!!) to see my girls and catch up.  we talked non-stop and we made plans to get our "craft on" again really soon!

and last but CERTAINLY not least, my Georgia aka Jorga.  She came to Winfield (again by way of KU) to be with us.  We went to Crosby's soccer game, watched New Moon, and cheered on our Jayhawks together.
I am so blessed to have met such beautiful students in my teaching career and I only look forward to watching them grow and become AMAZING adults in my life.  I love you girls!  besos! sra.

New MOOOOON!!!

As you MAY or may not know the second installment in our beloved Twilight series came out on video last night.  I was at Wally World yesterday and tried to buy a copy, forgetting that it didn't come out til MIDNIGHT!  RANDOM!  Much to our surprise Alder and I were not the only ones who braved the semi-blizzard in our jammies to be the first ones to purchase a copy!  YES, we could have waited until today to buy it but we decided it was worth the fun experience of going out in the middle of the cold night and to be OFFICIAL die hards!!  and YES we did come home and watch it after that!  Can you say TROOPERS?!?!?

She Shoots, She SCORES!!!

Our Little Buzz is so much fun to watch playing soccer!  These may look like the same goal but they were back to back scores she made.  Goooo BUZZ!!!

Top O' the Mornin' to Ya!!

We had a fun St. Patty's day together today!  I am so glad that it falls during Spring Break so that I can plan and celebrate even this smaller holiday with my girls!  They got all decked out in their GREEN and we had a GLORIOUSLY green day together!

Adler made some green water for us....Crosby wondered what it would taste like!  Yep, it tasted just like water!

We had pasta, Shamrock Milkshakes, and St. Pat's Day cupcakes!  Let the good times roll!

Adler's friend Izzy was over to see how the Curtis family does it up right!

Cheers O'Curtis family!!!!

The Tooth is GONE!!

I wanted Crosby to lose her tooth over Spring Break so I have been telling her to work on it all week.  It was pretty painful for her but it was also REALLY loose so I new it was time, but I didn't want to hurt her and shy her away from losing those baby teeth.  She actually has 3 loose teeth right now so I intended to ease into this process somewhat.  The last couple of days I have noticed that her big tooth is coming in behind this loose baby so I new we were ready!  I didn't even intend to pull it out when I did.  I was only going to loosen it up for later that night or even the next day when with one big pull it was in my hand.  My little one has now become an OFFICIAL big girl with her first lost tooth!  Way to go Cros!!

Holy Shirts!!!

This picture does not EVEN begin to describe the massive present my hubby received today!!  Grammy went this past weekend to visit my brother and she brought back a HUGE box of collared shirts for mr. curtis.  This picture does not even begin to show the 45 shirts my hubs now has...FORTY FIVE...my husband isn't going to have to buy another shirt for YEARS to come!!  It was like Christmas times 45!  He was even able to "gift" some of the shirts he has gotten in the past from my bro to his bff and his brother TJ.  Thanks LB!!  Glad you work at a golf course so you can keep Heath "in style."  Love Ya!

Baby Legs

I LOVE Baby LegWarmers!!!  These just started coming out when Crosby was about 3 and now you can buy them all over!!  They are too cute with little onsies or dresses!  Paisley has many pairs and i put them on her almost everyday.  She just looks so cute with them on her chubby little legs!  These are some pics I took using the advice of my friend Laura in the AWESOME natural light in her bedroom.  Thanks Laura, I am using the "no flash" tip more and more often and am LOVING the results!

Happy Birthday to our BLOG!!!

It has officialy been a YEAR since I started the Curtis Family Blog...WOW!  So my bf l.fox did a little dance in honor!!!!!!!!!!!  I am almost in disbelief how fast the time has gone.  I started blogging soon after I found out I was pregnant with our little bundle of Paisley and now here we are!  It is so cool to me that I am able to not only scrapbook our memories but keep a digital record of day to day happenings around Casa de Curtis that we will be able to share with our friends and family for a lifetime!  Love you all and thanks for sharing in the journey!

The Tooth is LOOSE!!!

Crosby has several loose teeth right now but one of her bottom ones is barely hanging on.  We worked on getting it really loosened up and ready to pull last night but didn't go through with it because it is pretty sore.  She was being VERY brave (cause she wanted to go to school "toothless" today) but I felt like I was hurting her so we stopped for the night.  I have P/T conferences tonight and tomorrow (won't get home til almost 9pm) so we'll see...she was going to the dentist today and I told her not to let anyone pull her tooth!  I have something about pulling my kids teeth...ESPECIALLY their first one!!  As they get older I feel like "Firsts" get farther between and this is just one I LOVE for some reason!!!   (I pulled out one of Chelo's during a soccer game last year--FUN!!!)

Of course I will be posting "after" pics so stay tuned for the update!!

My Big DAY!!!

As much as I am not JAZZED about turing 34 (the numbers are starting to sound OLD to me!!!) I am embracing it with the knowledge that there is NOTHING i can do to slow down the hands of time.  And to make it such a great day, so many of the WONDERFUL people in my life went out of their way to make my day special.

First is was off to school were the kids sang "Feliz Cumpleanos" and made me wear the birthday sombrero (that thing is as old as I am and weighs a TON!!).  Students even brought cakes and brownies, pizza, and DT.Dr Pepper!!!  Go KIDS!

My BTF (best teacher friend) l.fox came out to my room bright and early that morning bearing awesome gifts that just made my day!!!  Some new scrapbooking goodies and these awesome slippers!  I have worn them everyday since---sooo comfy!  Thanks Lindsay---love you!!

After school I stopped by the house to get Adler and saw that Heath had baked me a 34th bday cake (pictured above).  So sweet of him!!

Ads and I picked up Chelo from school and I decided to take them for a little surprise mani at the nail salon as a fun way to celebrate my day with my "big girls."

When we got home the girls went back in my scrapbook room and worked on my birthday presents.

They are so creative...They made personalized koozies for all of my dt. dp's!  I loved it!!

Last it was off to our favorite birthday dinner, El Maguey!!

That place is so kid friendly and the food is always the best!  We LOVE to eat and have fun there.  Thanks to my family, Grammy, and the Hardens for making my NIGHT!!  You guys are a BLAST!

And to finish off a wonderful birthday my Kara girl treated me to a pedi!!  It has been a few months since we have gone so our toes-ies were thanking us for making them pretty again!!
We pinky promised that we wouldn't go that long between pedi's EVER again.  We took the winter off b/c we thought no one was going to see our feet anyway...welllll, we decided that WE see them and that was enough to keep them looking good!!!  Thanks KG- I {heart} you muches!!!

and thank you to ALL of you for the birthday calls and messages.  It just makes a girl feel soooo VERY loved!!!

Look Who is FOUR Months Old!!

We brought Crosby's exersaucer up from the basement and got it all washed up as good as new for Paisley.  We set her in it and she really liked it, I think!  Now that she is 4 months old she can really hold her head up now and is starting to be interested in colorful toys and seeing her reflection.  We love watching her little personality develop and grow.  things we have seen this month:

  • she is a Happy girl.  especially in the mornings.  when i go into her room in the morning to get her out of bed (she is usually laying there sucking her thumb) she looks up at me smiles, and starts kicking her feet like CRAZY!!

  • she is definitely a mama's girl right now!!  (probably because I am still nursing her some)

  • she REALLY likes her cereal and eats it about as fast as you can spoon it in.

  • we started her on formula and cereal this week.  I am still nursing 3 times per day and we are supplementing and she seems to have made the transition just fine.  I would love to nurse until she is 12 months but with our schedule it is time to back it off a little.  so far I am fine with that decision and she seems to be too, even though she still LOVES it when I nurse her.

  • She has a "puzzled" look she gives that is just the sweetest.  When someone is holding her that she isn't so familiar with she wrinkles her brow and just checks the person out.  One time when we were out of town Grammy stayed the night with them and slept in our bed with her.  She said Paisley woke up the next morning and just looked and looked at her with this face---not understanding where her mama was!

  • She is a FULL Fledged thumb sucker now!

  • The other day I saw her just staring at her hands with her puzzled look.  She seemed to be wondering what in the heck they were!!

  • We go to the doctor this week for 4 month shots -OUCHY! so I will update her weight and length then.

  • She is wearing 3-6 month clothes now and size 1 shoes (she has TEENY TINY feeties!!)

  • Her momma has been really busy with parent/teacher conferences and school this week so we plan to post some new 4 month pictures soon!  Spring Break starts Thursday YAY!
