Six Month Appointment and Swimming

We went to my OB today for my monthly checkup. Chelo and Crosby went with me and when we were on our way to the 2nd floor of the clinic i kind of stumbled up the stairs. It was not a big enough trip that I worried about falling but the girls were DYING laughing which drew double attention to us so I felt SUPER!! (Heather, sound familiar???) Then, when the nurse was listening for the baby's heartbeat the Doppler was making its typical sounds while she was running it over my tummy listening for the heart. Well Chel thought that was the second funniest thing ever and announced "Mom, I think you are going to give birth to a puppy!!" This made us all start laughing and I don't know if it was the belly laughing I was doing or the noisy Doppler but the baby started kicking right where she was holding the mic on my tummy so that made us laugh more. She kicked in that same spot about 4 more times and we just couldn't quit laughing so the nurse finally gave up and said "I caught it at 144." and we left it at that. No one was cooperating today!! We were all too stinkin giggly---and I think the baby was just ticked cause we woke her up!! I can just envision her in there kicking me and saying "People let me sleep!!!"

While we were waiting for the Doctor Crosby and Chelo thought it would be cute to get on the table and make their tummies look pregnant!

Chelo was puffing her stomach out so hard that she was holding her breath and at one point her face got so red!!!
Oh, and I did see Dr. Miller for the first time. He is young, pretty cute, and has a little accent--I have no idea where he is from but I want to know. I thought he was really great but I didn't feel comfortable asking him if we could move up the date of my next sonogram to see if my placenta has moved cause Heath is getting a little moody!!!! ;) I was excited about having a female OB this time so I hadn't scheduled with him yet. It isn't that I won't see a male OB--my last two were-- I just feel sooo much more comfy with a woman, especially one that has given birth 5 times. makes sense right??? I just don't always feel like guys can completely relate, and if it weren't for my LARGE midsection I am SURE Heath would forget I am pregnant sometimes!! I just feel like the woman is invested in the whole process about 100x more than the husband. So not fair!!! i was talking to the Dr. today about my backaches and be said that I should get it massaged every night and when I told heath this he was like FAT CHANCE of THAT HAPPENING... just not in so many words!! That is fine... I just won't clear it with him before I start making weekly massage appointments! But I will have to find someone that does prenatal massage cause my normal therapist won't do preggos. BS!!
After the doctor I took the girls to the City Pool. After about 10 solid minutes of them bickering they finally decided to get along and go swim... after I threatened to take their butts home!
here they were having fun playing in the kiddie playground area...
and here they are trying to talk the lifeguard into letting Crosby go down the slide, even though she is about 2 feet too short. If any of you have been to our pool you know how big of NAZIs they are about everything so I knew this wasn't happening but they BEGGED to try anyway. Adler was especially insisting that they just go see if she could. It was so SUPER sweet! Of course the lifeguard shot them down with one look at Cros and she was sent back crying. LUCKILY, at that moment it started to lightening so they cleared the pool and we could either stay in the bathrooms for 20 minutes or go home. The girls kinda looked at me and I said DREAM ON we are outta here. There was NO WAY ON EARTH I was going to stand in the smelling bathrooms with 100 wet kids for 20 minutes--especially since it was 4:30 and time to go anyway.
